I went to Menards and bought a remigton tube style that is 30,000 to 55,000 BTU's but they had a convections style that was 40,000 to 80,000 BTU that would heat 1900 sq ft and the Remington heated 1500 sq ft and my garages is 1550 sg ft. The tube style looks like it would heat up faster and last a little longer. It was $140, should I take it back and get the other one(convections style that looks like it has no fan) which throws heat 360 degrees instead of one way for $99? Thanks for any help.

My kitchen is 25 years old. If I can only replace one thing per month, should I begin with an energy star refrigerator? Do you replace the floor before or after the refrigerator? Would the dishwasher be the next appliance in order of energy savings? Or the lighting? And then the stove? Would the cabinet work be done before or after the lighting? Should I prioritize aquiring an energy efficient washer & dryer? My intent is to save energy and improve safety (the stove) and have peace of mind about the appearance of the kitchen.

At work I have an old old old container full of kerosene. We need to get rid of it. We don't have anything that is made to burn kerosene (heater, etc). So we are looking to burn it off. Was wondering if it will ignite, and what I should expect of it. Is there going to be a big explosion or flame - that sort of stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

I have a forced hot air oil furnace. There has been a programmable thermostat on it for 5 or 6 years, and recently we had a problem where the furnace cut in and would not stop (it was set for 70 degrees and got up to 78 before I shut off the emergency switch). I replaced the batteries - did not help - so I bought a new programmable thermostat - problem still occurs. I called the thermostat company and they have never heard of this problem - I called the furnace company and they said it must be a thermostat problem. Help?! Most of the posts I have read relate to the blower not shutting off - but in my case the burner keeps running as well. The house just keeps getting hotter and hotter.

My husband restores cars and what not right now he is working on a 1967 Ford Bronco he wants to put a lift on it so we will need a bigger garage where he can pull the bronco in and out of the garage with ease once the lift is put on it. Does anyone know if they sell kits to build a garage like they do some log cabin houses and what not. you know where you go into home depot or where ever and pick the garage you want and then they sell it to you as a kit and you can get it cheaper. If you know what i am talking about where can i go to get one of these and roughly how much do you think this would cost.
