I have a gas fireplace. The flue was shut for 1/2 an hour with it on, when I noticed that it was giving off the smell of natural gas. My parents aren't worried, however I think that there must be some problem. The closed the flue. I did not smell "soot" or any such thing as they insist. It was natural gas. I think I'm getting a headache, although I may be paranoid...Shouldn't I be worried about carbon monoxide?

I have a home built in 1978 and I want to get rid of the popcorn ceiling. My realtor suggested I get it tested for asbestos prior to removal, but...if I get it tested and it is positive, it could cost several thousand dollars to remove it. Should I test for it?

I have all of these beautiful high school dances favors such as picture frames, champagne glasses, and etc. with the themes printed on them such as "A Night in Paris," "Winter Wonderland," and ect. I have been in college for a while now , and high school really does not matter much to me anymore. I still, however, want to use these favors as dorm decorations, but I do not want the printed themes on there. I have tried all different products to remove them. I have used bleach, different kinds of bathroom cleaners, glass cleaners, etc.

I really want to just take a pot scrubber and scrape them off, but I don't want to scratch my stuff.

These favors are made of plastic and glass.

Any tips for me?

I am thinking about painting butterflies, frogs or even a large mural in my bathroom ( which is a bathroom for family and guests and small...). I want to do something but I haven't been able to settle my mind on one thing. If it were you what would you paint...?

I live in Portland, OR. The apple tree was planted between the sidewalk and the street. City code does not allow this type of tree there. I'd like to move it into my backyard. The tree came from a seed that started germinating inside an apple my 8 year old son was eating. He saved it an d planted it. Therefore, it has sentimental value. I'd like to save it if I can. I have good soil in the yard.

The fan is part of the rotor and not sold seperately even if it would come apart. Any thoughts on the type of epoxy to use? It is a plastic material. The fins are intact, only the mounting points (2) failed.

Really annoyed with myself as last year I eventually found the solution to cleaning our Georgian windows which seem to be smeared with wax from the shutters (oops! gave away annual clean only) - tonight have tried soap and water, vinegar, window cleaner spray, bleach, curses and may even resort to prayer, alchemy,voodoo...naaah. Very busy with work and family demands and can't take the small-town-biddy-brigade-judgemental-tsk-tsks (in looks only - cowards) from those who fill their empty days with polishing brasses and cleaning windows for perks of gossip and snooping as well as being nearer to you-know -who - Mr G.
Any ideas??
