Omg, i am ALWAYS cleaning my room! My technique is:
first, i get my clothes on the floor into a big pile. i seperate the dirty clothes from the clean clothes (i always throw clothes on the floor) i put dirty clothes in hamper, the fold clean ones.
next, i make my messy bed to perfection and fix up the little things around the room. I put away cds, books, etc.
To keep your room clean, just make a list of goals for yourself.

The first thing is, hang up your clothes or fold them and put them away, AS YOU TAKE THEM OFF. Don't just drop them on the floor. The dirty ones should go in a basket or hamper of some kind, maybe in your closet, until laundry day. Next, make sure you have enough storage for all your things--CD's, video games, books, school supplies, accessories, and clothes. This could include shelves, laundry baskets, different types of bins, and so on. Once you have everything in its place, that will help a lot. It's not exactly easy, but once it's done, the room will be much easier to keep clean. The third step is to dust or wipe off all surfaces in the room (shelves, desk, etc.) once a week and then vacuum or sweep the floor. Also make sure you have at least 2 sets of sheets for your bed, so you can change them once a week and wash the dirty ones.

I always start in one corner and work my way round, that way you can do a section at a time, and when doing a section start with tidying the big things away first then the small things, polish then hoover at the end your room will look and smell lovely, and when your tidying put a few nice nic naks on show to give it the finishing touch.
To keep it tidy i always say tidy as you go if you put your clothes away every day when your finished and don't leave any dirty cups it should stay tidy, making the bed every morning when you get up always helps because it gives you a push to do the rest and will make the room not look so messy, then hoover and polish once a week. luv mita

To keep it clean, easiest way is keep a trash can available for tossing papers, gum wrappers, etc and a clothes hamper to automatically put your dirty clothes into (instead of on the floor). Start by cleaning the floor first, then tossing garbage, hanging up clean clothes or putting them in your dresser. Always keep your backpack, school stuff where you can find it. Once you done this everyday for a month, it will become habit.

Hi. Get 3 boxes or laundry baskets and label them trash, put away and give away.Go through all your stuff and put things in the three containers. Take the trash out first, then put the give away stuff in your car,and finally put the other stuff up.Everyday before supper have a 15 minute pick up. After 28 days, this can become a habit. If you can't get through it all at one time, take three days. You can do this and when your space is clean you feel good about it and yourself.Have a nice Christmas.

Create a filing system. Mine is this:
If I haven't used it within the last year, get rid of it. It is just taing up space and If I haven't used it in a year, I'm probably not going to. That is the easiest rule to live by and clears up a whole lot of clutter. If what you have is something that you think you might be able to sell, put it in your basement for now and have a tag sale in the spring. What you don't sell, give to good will. Good Luck!

Growing up I always cleaned my room weekly AND ALWAYS returned things where & how I got them. I also kept my book shelves organized and neat. Yes I sound like a nerd, geek, or whatever colorful words used nowadays, but it worked. Having a system for anything can be helpful -- even if you are one of the spur of the moment kinda girls.

Make PILES!! Easiest way to tackle a room.
Piles...
Clothing (dirty/clean/etc.)
Stuff that doesnt belong in your room
Toiletrie/bath and body stuff
Paperwork
Garbage
Storage
Junk
Next, attack each pile. Do laundry first. Seperate clean and dirty, bring dirty to laundry room and clean put away.
Next attack stuff that doesnt belong in your room and physically put it back in the correct rooms...kitchen, livingroom, basement.
Next, go through paperwork and save what you need, toss what you dont.
Next...use this technique...
Pick up something, ANYTHING and dont put it down until it is in the correct place. THis is the best way to do it.

Hardest part s is where to start, don't let yourself get overwhelmed.
Sometimes we let material possessions accumulate so much that we can't take care of it all. If your closet is so full that you can't put all your clothes away you are really depriving yourself the usage of that closet.... This also makes it harder to put things away. And if its hard it won't get done its human nature to take the easy way out.
Consider getting rid of some stuff...are you hanging on to things you really don't need or use? You don't have to throw things away in the trash, you can donate, consign item or sell on Ebay.
The more you have the more you have to take care of.
