Hello,

I am currently in the process of building a new home, a dream because of my familys origins. It may not be for another 6 or 7 months because of design but I read about some people being able to build homes in a matter of weeks. But I was curious, how long does it usually take on average to build a 4-6000 sf home? And are there any suggestions for when its time to look for a contractor?

Any help is appreciated,
Danny

I have a Crassula plant for many years now and this year she`s full of parasites, like a white foam (aphids) and these parasites are located at the base of the leaves, making them fall off. My plant is very frail and I can't get rid of these parasites. I tried to manually clean them up, I washed the plant in water mixed with tobacco but nothing kills those parasites. Any suggestions? I don`t want to lose this plant.

Toaster ovens always get disgusting and the glass always turns a brown color after awhile. You can never get it clean and clear. I hate these things for that reason, but always get them just out of their sheer convenience. Anyone have any ideas?

We purchased a new house in Pima County, near Tucson AZ, and at the time of the walk-through just prior to the closing, there was no crack in the sidewalk. The crack subsequently appeared and extended from a 3 inch crack becomming about a 2 foot crack in just a few days. The crack is less than 1/16 of an inch thick. The contractor says cracking in concrete is almost universal, and given the fact that there are no significant structural or safety issues, he will do no more than re-evaluate the situation in 6 months. The sidewalk was ugly and discolored, and the crack developed the day after the masonry subcontractor applied some kind of acid to the sidewalk.

Would appreciate any advice from real estate attorneys or contractors who have knowledge about these matters.

When I use my top loading washing machine which has a large agitator in the middle I find that it stretches my boxer shorts! This means that I cannot wear them anymore and they are completely useless to me. It happens over time, but it is very annoying. Boxer shorts are about $15 each, which makes it an expensive exercise to buy new ones.

Any ideas how I can stop my washing machine from stretching my boxer shorts?

Cheers
John

I just bought a new house and chose granite countertops (as an upgrade of course). I've only been in the house for a week and noticed that the kitchen countertops have a seam on the side of the sink that I think is very noticeable and also a seam behind the faucet. Can't the seam be place in a more discreet place so it is not as obvious. Also, the sealer used is quite evident; shouldn't it have been clear or colorless? I need to know how to discuss this with the builder.

I have seen a very nice way to display kleenex in the bathroom. You take out all the kleenex, discard the box, and on top of the stack of kleenex, you set a heavy round circular ring on top (chrome) and it serves as the dispenser. I can't remember where I saw this product. I've checked online with Crate and Barrel, West Elm and Pottery Barn. Does anyone have any ideas where I'd find one of these? Thanks!
