I do have a weed eater.
The best one I ever had no longer works and is no longer made. I bought another and it is made by the same company.
I didn't want to keep de-tangling the line so I bought one of those attachments to put on so you only have to add strings.
Unfortunately of all the ones that it could be used on mine wasn't one. I called both companies machine and attachment and they said it won't work.

Not giving in to the answer of NO. I figured out a way to Make it work and I love it!

weedeaters are great if you've got lots of weeds in an area that doesn't impinge on other plants. They're fast and thorough, and you can whack stuff before you know it - like those rare dahlias, for instance.

I had a gardening business for a while and used one every day for edging, clearing large weedy lots, or cutting long overgrown grass in neglected gardens, before using the lawn mower.

Its usefulness really depends on what you have in your yard. Now I've got my garden so tightly planted that I wouldn't dare use one.
