We were lucky when we used a chlorine product and took a fine sandpaper to it. Ours was just a few spots on a brushed stainless steel faucet and they came off. You can try a cleaner made for Stainless Steel like "Stainless Steel Magic Spray". Ordinary baking soda in a paste might remove the staining. Read the ingredients of any cleaners to make sure they do not contain Chlorine as that is what ruined your faucet. You can just get the faucet part from the manufacturer so you don't need to replace the whole tap. You may want to contact the manufacturer maybe they have a better way of fixing this mistake.

What were you doing using the same cloth for the toilet then the sink??? I hope I don't ever visit your house.

Only an acid like hydrofluoric will actually etch glass. You should check to see if Harpic toilet cleaner has that in it. If they are etched it may be possible to have the mirror surfaces polished on site. There are autobody products designed to polish scratched glass with a cotton buff. I am sure you could find someone who could do this. You can buy the stuff and do it yourself. Look in automotive supply catalogs. Good luck!
