I spilled soda on the faux fur trim around the hood of my coat. It detaches and now I do not know how to wash it. The tag on the coat said to remove the fur to wash the coat. Now what?

usually the tag will say how to clean it. but generally with any "fur" it needs to be dry cleaned. You could also purchase one of those "in home dry cleaning" packs like dryel.

Fake fur can be hand washed in cold water with Woolite or some dish washing liquids. Rinse very well and drip dry. The stain should come right out. Have a nice day.

Problem is it is faux fir. In otherword, 'plastic'. You can NOT safely apply anything to the stain without ruining the plastic.
Next time get the real thing. Fur is plentiful & inexpensive. So what a farm raised fox gave its hide. Heck a farm raised cow put dinner on my table tonight. Man was it ever good!

Take it to a drycleaner. They might have a detergent or something that is not too harsh for it.
