If not, you're in for a treat. I'm talking about lettuce shoots only 3 inches long that you can grow yourself.
Get youself any waterproof container at least 3 square feet surface. Place minimum of 2" of top soil, water until slightly moist. Seed with new seed. (I get mine at Park Seeds online, any type.) Depending on how cold a climate, cover with one or two or 3 layers of poly film and put where it gets direct sunlight. Use elastic strips from a fabric shop to make a band to hold plastic film in place.
I live where it rarely gets below freezing, so I use one layer, as much for keeping out snails as for
controlled climate and only in part sun.
In a month or so you will have baby lettuce, which you can cut with any sissors. It will grow back in about 2 weeks, so you will keep on getting it all year long. Or you can let it grow to full size, after thinning.

I have a small herb garden in a spare bathroom that I have placed a grow light in. Some plants are doing really well, while others aren't. I cut back most of the herbs in the fall but some of them haven't started growing new again. The bathroom stay cool but not too cold. We have a clothes dryer in there that we use but it doesn't get too hot or humid. Thoughts?

Here is what I have:

Doing Well:
Aloe x2
Lovage
Echinecea

Hanging on for dear life:
Patchouli
Stevia

Possibly dormant or dead?:
Sage
Mint - in own container

Pretty sure these are gonners:
Rosemary
Sweet Marjoram
Lemon Balm
* these three were potted together. Perhaps that is why they all perished.

I am in the process of building a new home in the next year. I was wondering, how does the process go about when all the blueprints are done and finding a contractor? Like do you just hand in the plans for your home to a contractor and just wait for bids?

As per Feng Shui, is it bad to have the Master Bedroom directly above the Kitchen? In our new home, I realized that our bed is directly above the stove. I was told by a friend that a bed over stove creates negative energy and the person who sleeps over the stove may fall ill. IF this is true, what can be done to rectify this problem...hang crystals, etc.? Please note, we are unable to move the bed position due to space limitation.

The pilot light on my gas stove (heating, not cooking) won't stay lit. This only started a couple of days ago. It will relight and stay on until the stove kicks off, then it goes out again. I have read that it may need cleaning, how do I clean it? I want to try that first before I call someone to come look at it. What should I use to clean it?

I am looking to buy a new vacuum and I was thinking about purchasing the Dyson Animal but don't really want to spend that much money, $499.99 retail price. I need a vacuum that can pick up pet hair well and that basically has good suction or possibly one with some kind of HEPA filter. Anybody know the best vacuum that I would be able to get for under $200.00?

the tree is growing healthily is the upper area but as the tree sprouts branches at the top, branches at the bottom dry up and die. i don't want to trim the top because that could stunt it's growth.

suggestions would be appreciated.
