Stone basement walls have been cemented and then skim coated with concrete (circa 1938). There are bubbles in places from what I assume is moisture damage or possibly flood damage from years ago (1972 as indicated). I am knocking this stuff off and recoating to make it all appear smooth and uniform.

I want to paint it... should I use a primer first or is paint made for concrete good enough on it's own?

US, only residents, please. What is the custom for tipping (or not tipping) contractor installers for things like refrigerators, water heaters, etc.? What about guys who deliver furniture and large TVs? Is there a custom out there I don't know about ? My husband seemed to think that no tipping is necessary (or expected). Thoughts? Thanks

Hi,
I have done a Garage addition. I am in the process of running the wire. My question has to do with the Romex. I want to run it in between the studs. Yet, I do not want to put wallboard in I hope to keep the studs exposed. Is this OK? or should I put it in flexible conduit? Or is there a better way

Thanks for your time,
pb4sc

I need a responsible contractor to renovate my new place. And i hope that the workmanship is high quality, the price resonable. Please recommend someone whom you have worked with and you feel happy with. I really do not have the time to search blindly for a contractor. Thanks for all your help!

I know you can flp a regular mattress to remove any sagging but my pillowtop has a normal mattress bottom possibly stiffer than normal and definitely stiffer than the pillowtop on the opposite side. I have rotated it already in the past but never flipped it. Ideas?

I have halves of pecans on top of a pumpkin pie, My mother in law said are you bringing a pecan pumpkin pie? I saw yes, it doesn't look like hers last year, but it looks great. Is this okay? Would you eat it?

i've got 77 acorns into some ground I sort of worked down. Anyway all the acorns have sprouted/ germinated whatever you call it so they are all fit. However do I need to keep the acorns in the dark for awhile or something? The acorns are outside in the elements behind some wire mesh fencing will they be ok?

Whats else do i need to know to grow oak saplings? and later trees?

My toilet used to work well, now when it hasn't been used in a couple of hours there is barely any water in the bowl.
When I flush it once the water comes in and allows me to flush normally to remove the waste in the toilet.
Can anyone help me with this problem, thank you

I live in mid mo. I have been laying tile for over 5 years, I think I'm pretty good at it. I currently charge 5.50 a sqft, still, some of my contractor friends get me to do tile for them and won't say what they are charging their customer.
I don't like working for GCs anymore, and I especially don't like them charging more for my work.
Is this normal in remodeling?

There is mould growing in the crevices in the bathroom. I clean it once a week but it seems to be growing from underneath the tiles. Is there a quick fix solution or it is going to require a complete renovation.

I am renting the property and the landlord put new sealant on the day before we moved in. It is growing from underneath it now... so i think he was trying to cover it up!
