I have halves of pecans on top of a pumpkin pie, My mother in law said are you bringing a pecan pumpkin pie? I saw yes, it doesn't look like hers last year, but it looks great. Is this okay? Would you eat it?

I just put roasted pecans right on top and that's all I did to it, is that okay?

Sounds great. I am making a pumpkin recipe that calls for pecans so don't worry, it's a combo that will work fine. I've had it a bunch of times and it's absolutely delish.

Trying to figure out how this would work...I see lots of crustless pecan pies, and crustless pumpkin pies...I suppose you could do a half and half. Are you up for the challenge? Thinking about this, it may be good to do in custard cups so individuals could dive in and you wouldn't have to worry about slicing it! Hmmm...maybe a test run before turkey day? Good luck and happy baking

The one I use is here: http://southernfood.about.com/od/pumpkinpies/r/blbb524.htm

If it was friends... I'd say leave it as is.... but for a mother-in-law that will never let you forget it, I'd just make another pie :)
