I am a guy so I am kinda dirty. I usually just shower in the morning so my white bed sheets tend to look dirty. I washed and bleached them three times yesterday and still didn't get them as white as I wanted. I have let them soak in bleach water for a day, and it came out with some spots really white while others not so white. I used the oxy clean which worked pretty good but still it seems like my mom and grandma know some secret to getting sheets to be extremely white. I have asked them but they won't tell me. I generally just throw all the sheets together and bleach them.

We've recently purchased a home built in the 70s and the kitchen cupboards are original. They are a dark laminate kind of material. They are in very good condition considering thier age. We'd like to sell the house in a couple of years and are considering what to do with them. They will need to be updated.

Would you say sand and paint, resurface, replace? Any thoughts on the best resale value? Does painting cupboards look cheesy?

I'm thinking maybe start with paint, if it looks bad go from there.

Any advise would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

I have a brick veneer home in Queensland, Australia and lately (we are going into summer) there have been a lot of bees buzzing around near my front door. I've been watching them and they are going into small holes in the mortar between the bricks. I have a garden tap very near the spot they are entering the wall. Why are they doing this and do I have a big bee hive in the wall of my house?! Is there any way I can get rid of them without hurting them or any other insects - don't really want to use pesticide because of small lizards etc! I need to get rid of them as I have a friend who visits regularly and she is allergic to bees and I really don't want her going into anaphylactic shock on my doorstep!! Hope someone can help with a genuine answer!! Thank you and have a fab weekend! :)

I have used just water, soap and water and it still looks dirty. Its not greasy, just looks dirty. We treated it a year ago before we used it and have not used it that much, but its sure showing what little use its been to us.

I have just moved, and I sold all my old stuff ... Besides a matress, a computer table, and some kitchen nicities, I have nothing else.

So I'm looking for ideas, or pointers to places that can help me design my home, before I start buying a dinning table, sofa, tv?(not sure if I'm buying one actually), shelves, etc.

I'm middle-class, I suppose, so i can't spend huges amounts of money, but I'm not also 100% "on budget".

thanks in advance for any help.

The leak is coming from the bottom of the toilet and the floor meet. It acts as if it is stopped up and when it flushes water leaks from the bottom back, right where the screw and nut are located, I'm no plumber. How can I fix it?

I have been combating roaches since my move in date 3 months ago. The apartment complex is brand new, 3 stories tall, 4 apt. per floor, 4 bed/bath per apt. I contacted the office twice now and last time they had a pest control company come out and spray along some of the base boards and set some traps, but the cockroaches are back again. The first time we were finding adult cockroaches, and this time around I'm only finding baby (small) cockroaches. A majority of the ones I have found have been alive and are typically walking on the ceiling or at the top of the walls. The problem has slowly progressed, as the first day I found 1, the second say 2, 3 the third day, and 6 today. I told the office and they gave me the good ole "when we get around to it." I keep my bedroom pretty clean and never eat in it. You'd think id be finding the roaches in my bathroom, but have never seen them there, nore have I found them in the kitchen, mainly my bedroom and I'm the cleanest. Am I infested?
