I have just moved, and I sold all my old stuff ... Besides a matress, a computer table, and some kitchen nicities, I have nothing else.

So I'm looking for ideas, or pointers to places that can help me design my home, before I start buying a dinning table, sofa, tv?(not sure if I'm buying one actually), shelves, etc.

I'm middle-class, I suppose, so i can't spend huges amounts of money, but I'm not also 100% "on budget".

thanks in advance for any help.

There a tons of websites for the home, even some DIY kind of places. Try checking out the diy.com for ideas. Also magazines and catalogs will tell you what's trendy. Thrift shops and garage sales are really good. Check out some local furniture shops to see what styles you like. Then do some research online.

Mail order catalogues: Crate and Barrel; Pottery Barn; and IKEA. Pottery Barn has some great design books too. The magazine House Beautiful also has stuff in there for "small spaces" Good luck and have fun!

Try looking at garage sale or estate sale on weekends. Also consignment stores in your local area. Other areas are rental stores like Cort Furnitures. Buy only when there's a sale - also look into floor model furnishings.

I had fewer things than you did before I settled in.....garage sales are the way to go!!! and the "free" section on Craig's list. There are sooo many wonderful finds out there for nothing.
