Seem to me that Forced-Air is the worst for allergies. Hot water Baseboard is good but more expensive to install. And Radiant is the most expensive to install, and if there's a problem with it, you have to break open the foundation to fix it. Also we want to put real solid hardwood floors, and those are not compatible with In-Floor Radiant Heating.

I am leaning toward either Forced-air or Hot Water Baseboard.

Which is better?

My husband our painting our bedroom and are having terrible problems. It was a light blue and we have so far put three coats of Dutch Boy's Classic Red Satin on because we forgot the primer. We painted the edges and trim with a paint brush but used a roller on the rest. Now you can see the swipes of the paint brush and the edges are darker. We can't get it one solid color without seeing where the last roll of the roller was. We need some help badly. We both thought that you couldn't go wrong painting but we have been proven that it can be done. Does anyone have any ideas? Do we just need to keep adding more coats?

this heat pump is about 8 years old and we have not had any problems with it in the past but I do not know that much about heat pumps and I am afraid this is going to get expensive.

Does it work if you keep them under light overnight? I wanted to pass them out tomorrow, but they're all closed up because the weather's cold and dark. Does anyone know how I can make them bloom overnight?

I have a down comforter in bad need of cleaning. Is it safe to wash a down comforter or should it be dry cleaned. The label on the comforter is of little help. All it says is, "Covering: All Cotton. All new filling material consists of 95% crushed duck feathers, 5% down."

Oddly, there are no cleaning/laundering instructions on the label.

Help!

Here are the specs: I have a 700 square foot, 20X35 wood frame apartment that I want to completely redo. I need new bathroom, new bedrooms, (two small ones),new floors, new kitchen, new layout. I want to flip-flop the placement of the Kitchen and Bathroom, so plumbing will be relatively near by. There are NO load-bearing walls in the apt. How much to do TOP middle-end or LOW high end remodel (with demo), if there is such a thing. Want tasteful, not fancy. I'm just trying to get SOME idea of how much this could cost. This is in Brooklyn, NY, easy parking etc. I know there are a lot of variables, but answers are more appreciated than questions.
