We're currently having our kitchen renovated. We bought our countertop from the Home Depot. My question is: Do I have to tip the person who's installing the new countertop? And if so, how much? Thank you for your time. =)

I would feel pretty good if I could keep these 2 week old sprouts turn into mature plants, but I fear my indoor conditions won't do it for them.

I also fear putting them outside would kill them, since we have already experienced frosty mornings. Would it survive in a protected area?

I dont have a green house or anything fancy, but would love to hear some of your crazy ideas on this.

I have some more seeds for spring, so I am willing to be chancey with these fall upstarts.

Thoughts, comments, rude noises?

I believe the home inspector made me sign a waiver to the effect that they are not responsible for anything after inspection day. The insurance agent (allstate, PA) said that since I've been in the house less than 60 days they would drop my insurance. I guess what I am asking is what's the best move to make, if any, in order to avoid out of pocket expenses?

I cannot seem to keep a croton alive. The leaves keep falling off. Am I overwatering or underwatering? Does it need to be misted? I have it in a west window.

I have an outdoor built-in barbecue in NJ (where the temp can be 0 deg. F). The countertop of the bbq has a natural granite countertop which is dark brown.

Now everyone I speak to recommends sealing it as they say the granite will stain.

Since I did not find any granite sealers for outdoor use, I used an outdoor stone tile sealer. Do I really need to bother with sealing?? Granite is a stone and they make statues and cemetery headstones of granite. I do cleanup immediately after I cook. I never put food directly on the stone... so only thing on it is plates/platters. There maybe some food and sauce drips, which is quickly wiped to maintain hygeine.

I can't find anyone with a similar barbecue setup to advise me!

What is your experience with granite outside as far as sealing is concerned. Any recommended brand of sealer? I saw something in Home Depot for $80!!! I paid $800 for the granite, including installation - there was no way I was paying $80 for a granite sealer!

This type of molding is usually in the the lower half of a wall, sometimes below a chair rail. It is strictly decorative and is usually in a white or off white on a wall of a darker color. What is this style of moding called?

Here is a picture example.
