Mattresses measure usually 80 x 80, beds including frame will be larger. How much larger depends on the bed.

California King is 6 ft wide & Six & 1/2 ft LONG Reg King is 6ft by 6ft As for it being called "California" King, I'd sold furniture for several yr's & the Mattress Co's said it was because ppl could visualize the length of the State being the longest on the map, so therefore would associate the Brand Name easier, (Marketing Technique) for those that needed a Longer bed.
