A lady that I work with says thats she's tired of the high energy costs of running a dishwasher and hot water heater. Her family has taken to using dixie plates and plastic utensils during the week. She claims it saves massive time and energy.

This sounds really bad environmentally (more garbage) but she swears by this. Does anyone else use disposable dishes and utensils ?????

Had recent plumbing replaced and no water is leaking in the basement on the floor. No flooding either.

We already have thermostatic valves of the ordinary sort (Danfoss) all over - the ones that are just like glorified radiator knobs. Trouble is they control the temperature of themselves, not the temperature of the room, and the adjustment is a bit finicky.

Surely there's something better available nowadays?

Thanks!

2- Also what is that spray-on grass stuff that they spray on the side of the road to grow grass?

Well thats the era I grew up in. I admit I do have a couple beaded curtains and a couple pepsi crates with nicknacks in them and some old tins on a shelf, but should I be offended? Seems this younger generation is wearing alot of clothes that look like what we wore in the 70's. How should I take that comment?

I was told something of a polymer base would work. I am remodeling the inside of my double wide and have took down the strips of the seams at the joining of the drywall but the compound that I was told to use by a local hardware store has cracked over the winter. I followed the instructions carefully now I am back to square one. So if someone knows the name brand of a product that will fill small cracks in walls like the and not split or crack once it is painted over I would appreciate it :)

Recently, my stepfather and I fixed a portion of my ceiling that needed replaced. However, after he, the handyman, was gone, it was left to me to paint the ceiling, including the space where he had used to even it out with sheetrock joint compound. I painted the ceiling and it looked pretty good, but parts of the joint compounded area didn't look good enough in my opinion. So, I decided to prime the spot and paint over it. It looked worse, so the genuis that I am thought one more layer of primer and paint would make things better, Needless to say, I now have a spot on my ceiling that looks almost gray rather than white. What do I do? I tried sanding it, but it is hardly making a dent in it.
