A lady that I work with says thats she's tired of the high energy costs of running a dishwasher and hot water heater. Her family has taken to using dixie plates and plastic utensils during the week. She claims it saves massive time and energy.

This sounds really bad environmentally (more garbage) but she swears by this. Does anyone else use disposable dishes and utensils ?????

I use them quite often to save MY energy - I hate doing dishes. Sometimes it's not practical, like when you're eating juicy meat or pasta or something. But for sandwiches and the like, paper plates are perfect.

NO I DON'T.
SOME PLACES DO LIKE PRISIONS AND JAILS DUE TO MORE OF A SANITARY ISSUE THAN ENERGY SAVING.
IT COST MORE TO WASTE--THAT WHAT DISPOSABLE ITEMS ARE.

IT'S ALWAYS CHEAPER TO US FULL DISHWASHER AND PLATES-CRYSTAL-SILVERWARE ECT THAN FILLING UP WASTE (LANDFILLS)
IT COST MASSIVE AMOUNTS TO USE--THAT IS THE CONVIENT PART, USE TOSS AWAY-

SHE IS TOSSING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AWAY.
AND RECYLE IS MOOT ALSO.
SHE THUS IS HARMING THE EVIRONMENT MORE WITH PLASTIC THAT NEVER GOES AWAY IN LANDFILLS.
