We never use sand paper on marble
Only mechanical grinders and buffers

The finest grit you can find (between 300-400) That way it won't scratch the marble's sheen

do not use sandpaper you need to either polish it with a polishing compound or if it needs it grind it but make sure you know wut you are doing. talk to a marble supply store and ask them for help with your project
