It depends on where you live. If it's fireants, they'll be back. They never give up once they've established themselves and they multiply by the billions. Best treatment for fireants is to scatter the 'bait' - poisoned cornmeal granules spring and fall. Treat any remaining mounds with Ortho Orthene.

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water. I found the information at http://www.pests.in useful.

as for a natural one, vinegar, spray it directly on the ants, they will leave then spray the cracks, crown molding, holes, wherever they come in, also you can visit your local home depot or loews and you can buy one of those bug guard sprays, just pray the whole perimeter of the house and you will not only be ant free, but bug free.
good luck

Mix liquid detergent and water (50/50) and spray it along all of your base boards, up the cracks in the walls, around the bathtub, every place they make their "trails". The liquid detergent f*cks with thcide from bug sprays. It works. And you'll feel better about spraying soap everywhere instead of stinky bug spray.
