Get one of those Swiffer cleaners that are statically charged for blinds. They work REALLY well.

I used a sponge on mine, while they were still hanging. I used Mr. Clean in warm water. I held each panel and wiped both sides down. It worked fine for me and I always got my cleaning deposits returned when vacating an apartment.

Sorry if they are dirty you will have to take them down, I took mine off of the sliding glass door and put them in the bathtub with some dawn dishwashing soap and greased lightening and let them soak and sloshed them around before rinsing, then hung them up outside to dry, they aren't that hard to take down and put back up again. They collect alot of crud just from house hold dust and running the A/C and heat.

Fabric: vaccum them. You will need to take them down when really dirty and send to a cleaning service or drycleaner.
Plastic: Wipe with damp cloth.
