Just wondering, a local A/C repair man suggested that I could do that during the peak summer heat to drop the temperatures in my house by a few more degrees. Anyone else tried it?

Has anyone here ever re-painted an old bath tub, shower or sink? How did it turn out? Any recommendations? I just bought a house and my master bathroom tub, shower & sinks are all a nasty mustard color.

a few months ago, my bedroom had 1 drop of water from the roof. It only happened once. The bedroom is located next to the front porch that was coverd badly from a bad deceitful contractor.
Now this roof guy said I need to change the whole thing and that the city doesn't allow putting a 3rd layer of roof anymore. Is it true? He said he would put 30years shingles on. Lost hope of contractors... How many types of shingles are there? Do i have to change the whole roof. He wants to charge $3000. Thanks

We are purchasing an LG washer and dryer that are front-loading machines. I have had regular Whirlpool machines for 8 years with no problems. Since my new machines have more bells and whistles, I was wondering if a warranty would be worth it. We have a choice of a 3 year warranty for $300 or a 4 year for $378. The manufacturer's warranty is good for one year. So should I spend the money to get an additional warranty, or hope the maintenance holds up?

I'm torn between 5 different areas and would like to know the pros and cons from people actually living there. As far as weather, I like it to be pretty consistant, and somewhat warm.

1. Seattle or Portland
2. Phoenix
3. San Diego
4. Washington DC
5. Chicago

I've got a very overgrown back yard (new to the house) and want to clear land and plant a garden, grass and flowers. We have worked weekend after weekend cutting, hauling, pruning and clearning and it's still pretty crowded back there. Any experience and advice on clearing vines that have grown into tall OLD pine trees, clearing poison Ivy and poison Oak, digging up old dead bushes, and removing years worth of pine straw and leaves would be greatly appreciated. I can NOT afford to hire the work out but I can afford some great super tool or machine that would cut my load considerably if there is such a thing.

Our lease started 5/1/06, and it is a 6 month lease. So if we were to move out 12/1/06, we would not be in breach of our contract. (right?)
Any suggestions on how I can word my letter?? I dont want the landlord to think we are leaving before the lease is up.

Should I dry clean it? How do I clean it? Maybe I should take it back but I like it because it really keeps us warm and it's organic.

I have a fire sprinkler system in my home and I want to change one of the heads. The current one is chrome and I want to replace it with a white one to match my ceiling. Is it as simple as shutting off the water, and draining the system or is there something more to it?

The olive tree is in a sunny sheltered garden in the south of England. It is very healthy and I was wondering why it doesnt produce olives, when I have seen smaller ones with olives on. Does it need another olive tree in the garden to cross polinate?
