If I want to make an outside sign for my day care, what materials should i use/?

Also how can I get the lettering straight?

Get an alphabet stencil for the lettering, cel vinyl or acrylic paint and use a piece of plastic for the sign itself. You can find the stencil and paint at Michael's or any craft store. Try Home depot for the plastic.

You can also use wood and regular paint but you will need to seal it with a UV resistant polyurethane.

Waterproof materials, use LEDs if lights are needed, use ruler to measure.
