The olive tree is in a sunny sheltered garden in the south of England. It is very healthy and I was wondering why it doesnt produce olives, when I have seen smaller ones with olives on. Does it need another olive tree in the garden to cross polinate?

They don't need to cross polinate. Although it may be very healthy it may take a couple of years to Mature enough to produce olives.

You don't say where you are living and this could matter a lot. Does it produce flowers? Is it a variety that is good for fruit? There are many varieties of olive and they are not all equal when it comes to producing fruit.

you can try and try a CAN fertilizer, you also probably water it too much. Olives will flower then fruit when under strain, dont water it at all this year and strip the lower branches. This should do it. Enjoy the Olives
