I just want to aggravate my stepdad.

The lights are always turned on, the television and computer is also turned on for more than 12 hours, what else should I do to increase the electric bill?

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What should I use? I tried soap and a degreaser that isn't working because of the type of paint used.

How can I identify what kind of spiders these are? We live in the Chicagoland area. The spider is brown about 1 to 1.5 inches with a slight tan stripe on it's back. We have killed about 6 of them just today!!! Are they poisonous? Afraid to get whole house exterminated because of children and dog. What to do- CANT SLEEP.

I have been thinking about adding a master bed/bath/closet over my garage (approx. 400sf). It needs to be fitted to hold floors of course as I have just rafters there now. Does anyone know the average price per square feet for an addition like this in Seattlle?

Hello - be nice to me as this is my first post!

I have recently discovered I have mice in my house. I have been hearing rustling in my loft recently, and the other night a mouse ran into my room!

I was petrifed and since them I have been unable to sleep in my room. I sleep on a futon and just keep thinking of it crawling on me when I am asleep.

I bought some poison a few days ago, but it mustn't be strong enough for them as I can hear them in action right now. I also bought one of those plug in deterrents, but it hasn't workied.

I thought of getting some traps, but I would freak out if I heard them going off in the night.

I am terrified...and yet another night I am spending on the couch. I'm a nervous wreck.

Please can you advise me how to get rid of them, I cannot afford to get the professional pest control people in as they charge too much.

Thanks in advance for saving my sanity! ;-)

We bought a house with a pool and have little knowledge of pools. Is it worth the trouble winterizing it if the liner is to be replaced?

My wife and I watch Flip This House and always see houses that some young couple buys, fixes, and then tries to resell for a tidy profit

I've seen a few episodes where they buy a Craftsman style home for "only" $600,000 dollars, put another $100,000 into it then try and sell it for $800,000.

The first thing I do is wonder what do they do to be able to get a loan on a $600,000 dollar home? Our Craftsman home was built in about 1929. Ours cost us about $60,000, the average price of other similar homes in our town. Is it really "location, location, location?" Is the housing market really that insane in other areas of the country (we live in Missouri)?
