I always noticed a damp smell in my London living room but did not know what caused it. When I decided to replace my carpet I lifted the carpet + underlay and I found a small area of damp/wet floorboards around the stone hearth from the previously blocked up chimney. I checked that there was no leaking pipe + I had my chimneys capped with covers incorporating vents for airflow. I have a number of air bricks to allow air flow under the floorboards. But the damp patch has returned! What is the cause?

s award she received from the church for outstanding community envolvement , I think I banged it to hard when I was mounting it. It has a small blemish, I am afraid it will snap if if I keep messing around with it. Its a very delicate material.Should i just leave it alone or is there some way to fix it up?

I have one of those rubber-backed bathroom rugs in my bathroom. It's about time to either clean it or get a new one. Can I put it in the washing machine? Will this damage the machine or the rug? And also, can I put it in the dryer or will that ruin it? There isn't a tag on the rug with instructions so I haven't a clue.
Thank you :)

My son wakes up before 6 because of light entering the bedroom, and I would like to darken it. Right now, I taped tin foil to the windows, but as you can probably imagine, it doesnt look very good. Any suggestions?

Hi. I am trying to find out the specific name of this plant. It is a climber (i am told a jasmine?). It has brightish shiny green (light green) leaves which are quite quite broad, rounded leaves not thin ones. When the newer leaves mature and become older leaves they become very strong and fiborous (almost lots of cellulose in each leaf), making it almsot like a fiborous piece of paper or card you are wripping throuhgh.
When cut it ozzzes very white sticky sap. It has small delicate white flowers in little bundles and they are fragranced.
i believe it also keeps its leaves all year.
any help/possible names this could be would be great. plant is in uk garden in norfolk. thanks

In my bathroom sink, the cold water is fine, but the hot water has almost no pressure. The hot water pressure is fine in the tub and the kitchen sink, but not the bathroom sink. What could cause this?
