I do very little ironing, If I need to get the wrinkles out of something, I usually just throw it in the dryer for a few minutes. Then when I take it out I lay it flat and smooth my hand over it to get out any wrinkles.

Throw it in the dryer for a bit.. turn the iron on, wait a couple minutes.. take shirt out of dryer, iron any spots that you think need it, maybe run iron over the sleeves so that you get the nice creased look... if the wrinkles don't come out of the shirt, it could mean that the shirt has been left wrinkled for too long (or it depends on what material the shirt is made of) so try throwing a clean wash cloth that you dampen a little, in the dryer with the article of clothing you are trying to de-wrinkle... voila!

Start taking your clothing out of the dryer as soon as the buzzer sounds. Hang them up or fold them right away. This way, you won't have any wrinkles.

If I was too lazy and didn't do this, I usually hang up the shirt in the bathroom while I take a really hot shower. The steam will release the wrinkles. Or, you can also throw the shirt back in the dryer with a damp cloth. Just make sure to remove the shirt from the dryer immediately.

I was in the military for 17 years, so I have ironed plenty. I came up with my own order of steps, and just having a 'formula' seems to speed things along a bit.
My preferred method is to first, iron the collar, then cuffs (unbuttoned and from the outside), sleeves and while at the top of the sleeve seam (shoulder, iron up onto the top back of the shirt (across the back, from shoulder seam to tag area on each side). Then I get the plackets (buttons and button holes), from the inside first to flatten any facing inside.
Now the last parts left are the fronts, left and right, then the back is last.

I usually remove my shirts from the dryer before they are fully dry and place them on hangers to dry overnight. This will prevent many set-in wrinkles.

To begin with, don't let them sit in laundry baskets getting really wrinkled. Second, quickly spray down with water from a spray bottle, make sure the iron is ready before you begin. Collar, Arms (fronts only), Back, then the front.

I've got it down to a science and can iron a shirt in about 90 seconds (unless it requires some special treatment)

What I do to save time and get better looking shirts is to fill the iron with distilled water and use a steam setting. Other than that, there really isn't a whole lot you can do. I usually do the body first and the sleeves last, and you can do both sleeves at the same time -- it just doesn't seem to work as well as doing them one at a time.

I too, spray first with Downy Wrinkle Release, then start with the
collar, front, back then sleeves. I hang the shirts up in the closet
so they're not close to other articles of clothing-they stay wrinkle free a lot longer.

just iron the parts that will show. collar, front and back shoulder parts and upper arm, if long sleeved and you fold it up. if not, the entire sleeve has to be ironed. if you tuck your shirt in anyway, no need to iron the lower part.

but so you will not need to iron it at all, when you wash it and hang to dry, pull the shirt and iron out with your hands the same parts as above and hang it to dry properly so that it will not have "fold" or crease marks

If you don't need to have it perfectly crisp, just trying to get out the wrinkles, use Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray. You just spray, let it hang, and off you go! Or, you could be like my husband, spray, wear and go, and by the time he gets to the office, the wrinkles are gone!
