I bought an orchid plant a little over a month ago. It had three blossoms, now two more have opened but the first three are all wilty and dying. Is that normal or should they have lasted longer? i have it in a big chinese orchid vase that is probably 2 gallon, i put it in the sink and add pour a liter or two of water over it about once a week or so, have i not been watering it enough or the right way?

I want to make my integral garage into a room, need damp stuff, window, bricking up where the up and over door is, internal plastering, etc. How much do you think? Its a standard single garage in a 6yr old house. Do I need planning permission and if so, how much does that cost?

Trying to decide which interior doors to buy for my new house. The price is almost exact to the dollar so now it comes down to quality. Lowes carries the Reliabilt door by ABS and Home Depot carries the Jeld-Wen door. Does anyone have a reccommendation on one over the other? Please help me out with my decision. thanks!

Are the plums meant to be picked after the first frost? They are starting to get soft now and they are sweet, but not sweet enough! I still think they have a tinge of green to their taste. They are deep purple, and a few have fallen from the tree, but mainly due to wind.

Have indoor/outdoor dogs, so don't want to hurt them. Currently have gluetraps, and the old-fashioned snap closed wood traps. Any better mousetraps, or poison that is nonlethal to dogs? We have a clean house, but live on acreage, so field mice come in with onset of colder, wet weather. Thanks.

Occasionally the lights in the house pop and short circuit. The fuse box says to use 5 amp fuse wire. I have replaced it a couple of times and it is still the same. I wondered if using 10 amp fuse wire would solve the problem or whether I should get the electrics checked?

They have the typical buildup of dirty, sticky grime on them. They have hand-painted roosters on them so I hope not to clean the roosters off.

At night I hear racoons (just looked w/ flashlight so I know it's them) & it sounds like 1 is snarling & growling like a lion & the 2nd is screaming like in fear. Is this sex, or fighting, or trying to kill each other? It's really loud.

My roommate and I were moving to a different apartment. We defrosted our mini fridge, but when we moved it, I forgot to take out the tray underneath the freezer part. It had all the melted ice and gross suff, and it spilled all over. We were in a rush, so we didn't clean the inside of the fridge at the time. A few days later when we opened the fridge, it smells like something died in there.

I've been trying to clean it for weeks, and the smell keeps coming back. I've tried to clean it with baking soda and water, scrubbed the inside with soap, and sprayed Lysol Antibacterial Food Contact Surface Cleaner (what a mouthful) to disinfect it. I've even unscrewed the door and cleaned off the gross stuff growing in the rubber lining, and it still smells awful. I am reluctant to throw away the fridge, and I want to know if there's anything else I could do to save it.

Yes, that is right. No reading the directions, just taking out the new toy and playing with it, for hours. Yes, the green grunge is gone. However, now the banisters and the flooring have very much of a splintery feel.

Please help me remedy this situation, short of building a new deck. I haven't stained it yet, cause i know there is more work to be done. Right?!

Our house is on the market and I have a realtor from a different company interested in buying our house. The commission is 6% and it is a corporate relo. Will the agent/buyer receive commission because he is the buyer and a real estate agent? If so, I think I should take that into consideration when we get his offer.

My clothes, that I handwashed, still smell soapy after I finally dried them(outside). This may be a dumb question, but is that normal? or should i wash them in a machine?
