I would go from 4 feet up with a metal chimany or alike if mortar is not possible to be used again. If this too is possible, chiney is 3x3x3x3 feet around.
chimany is 140 years old.

I'm looking for a low (but wide) cabinet (not one of those tall towers) and a matching medicine cabinet for my bathroom. I want it to be relatively sturdy and good quality, but it may not be permanent in our house, so I don't want to spend too much money. I've looked at Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Ikea, but the first two are too expensive and Ikea didn't have the right thing. Any other ideas of where to look? Oh - and the first one we bought, thinking that it would be temporary was from Target and the quality was awful. It was cheap, so we got what we paid for, but I don't want to do that again. So something between Target and Pottery Barn in terms of price.

I have used chlorine and a pressure washer in the past to remove dirt and mildew from my shingles. Are there any other methods that are better and less harmful to the shingles?

The house I moved into already has a VERY shallow 15' x 4' "pond", tends to dry out quickly (and algae up) and I'd rather have a deeper one with plants 'n critters and more 'control'. Was created with some sort of liner and rocks (basic river rocks, 1" diameter give or take). Assuming I have to completely empty all rocks and pull liner and then just "dig" - but any other suggestions? New liner vs. prefab stuff (can I mix)? How deep? Filters? Had landscaping company give me a basic estimate and it exceeded 6K, want to do something for (quite) a bit less than that....

I had someone reframe my airconditioner and he did a horrible job inside. I can see the dry wall edge because he didn't line up the 2" molding correctly. I am aggravated every time I look at it. I am not sure what to say when I call the company back.

He has a 2 story house and he wants to punch a hole in the wall upstairs to have a sliding board come down into his living room for his grandkids to slide on. What should I say to grandpa? If he puts it in there I want to slide too. I guess on the postive side he would not have to worry about them falling down the stairs.
