i would simply call the company and have them send a supvisor out or take pictures to show the company and request they come out and fix the eye sore. we do not go out to eat and expect bad food or service . so why should this treatment of service be any different.

I assume you've already paid for the job. If not it will be much easier to negotiate with the provider of the service.
Never stop payment on a check for shoddy workmanship! That will be regarded by the court as "self help"! Never be angry or threathen. Be very civil and calm. Tell the contractor/handi-man, or whoever that you really don't like the way it looks. Take pictures before they "redo" anything.
If they fail to correct the problem you can probably go to small claims court, but you'll lose the time you could have spent "smelling the roses" and just enjoying life.
And you can always tell your friends to never hire them.
In the end it's like having a blow-out on the hiway. You're still alive or we'd never have met. Speed bumps come and go!

IDid you pay them? I hope you did not! If you paid with a credit card, you can dispute it. Call the credit card and tell them. Call the company and tell them what a bad job they did and demand they send someone else to repair this. If they don't do it, report them! Put a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. There are some TV Reporters that if you call them, they will bring it out to the open and try to get it fix for you. If you make the company aware of the problem though, they might just fix it for you. Try it. You have nothing to lose.

Call the company up and explain that you are not satisfied with the work that has been done. You seem to have done a good job explaining with your question. It may just take a little trimming of the molding. Most companies would be glad to return and correct a problem because their reputation is at stake. It costs them more with a dissatisfied customer than it does to correct the mistake. Word of mouth advertisement positive or negative is more powerful than a year of advertising in the local newspaper.

Peg him on it. And if you paid him yet is also an issue. Several years ago we were having a bathroom renovated and asked the company to regrout the other bathroom, for which we knew we would pay extra for. Well, the guy did not scrape the moldy old grout out. I called the owner of the company and told him I could have done a better job myself. Apparently, that hit a nerve b/c he had the guy redo it correctly for no charge.

You call the company and explain your complaint. Tell them what you want them to do (refund money; repair damage, whatever). If they don't respond appropriately, you can sue them in small claims court for damages, or you can report them to the Better Business Bureau in your area. Actually, you should not have paid the contractor until you were satisfied. Next time you will know not to pay until you are happy with the work.

Tell them you were very unhappy with the job and you want to give them a chance to fix it before you call someone else and sue them for the cost.

Call them and tell them it wasn't done properly. If they won't fix it for you-correctly-, then take pictures.... get a couple estimates to fix it, and call a lawyer... Believe it or not, it happens all the time.
