The caulk around my bathtub is turning black. What causes this? Is there a way to clean it so that it is white again? How can I prevent it from turning black in the future? I have tried using bleach and it did lighten it a bit but when I kept using it, I noticed that the caulk is now cracking.

I have 2 (tall and narrow yet very heavy) bookcases just moved to an area with extra thick carpet padding. They easily tilt back and forth with ease. I need to anchor them to the wall but how? I take it that I will need to screw conecting hardware in to the wall and bookshelves, but I do not know how to and with what hardware. Please help I do not want my kids and/or pets to get crushed accidentally!

Mine is 6 years old and has never bloomed. I am not sure of the type of soil, moisture level, lighting or fertilizing. I understand that their bloom measures 8 to 12 inches in diameter, lasting only about 6 hours, emitting a vanilla-like perfume.

What are the buttons you put into upholstery for decor called? Where can I find them? Any reference on how to use them?

(The buttons I'm talking about are on both the floor cushions and end table in this pic: http://tazi.prodigysites.com/images/catalog/496.jpg)

There are huge (HUGE!) spiders in my house, specifically in the basement. I hate to kill the things, because it's not fair to them. But I just can't stand the thought (*willy shivers*) of big spiders all over the place. What can I do to get rid of them? Or is there anything to do to get over the fear of spiders?

I found simplified verbal descriptions online, and even a few simple diagrams . . . but the actual steps to sewing all those baffles closed is a mystery.

I had done a load of laundry and a pen had exploded. I had used sos, windex, nail polish remover, alcohol, and anything that we had. What else can you do can you still use the dryer without ruining the clothes or should I just go out and get a new one.

I'm no pro at lawn care, but I've never understood this: if you live in a warm, dry area, and there hasn't been rain for awhile, will watering the lawn mid-day BURN the lawn? I've been brought up believing this, whether true or false, yet some of my south Texas neighbors are out from time to time watering their lawns mid day.
Is there any grounds to the idea that a midday watering will burn the grass?

Thanks.

Friend gave it to me. I looked up the user's manual online, and all it shows is how to change the string, nothing about changing the blades.
