it sends shivers up my spine if i accidently stand on 1. my son+ daughter always pick the snails up + put them on the grass in the direction they're going,so they dont get squashed. you never see them just going 1way, why do they risk going to the other side, when just as many are heading back to where they were. silly things!
i've seen them heading up the sides of houses too? now where are they going?

toad stools that are growing in my yard. They are there because of a dead tree root, was like this when we bought the house. Previous owners planted grass over the dead roots, the grass is beautiful, this is why we never had them remove the roots. My question is .. is there something I can put on these other than insecticides. Something that won't harm the beautiful lawn, but get rid of the toad stools.. Plzzzzz help..

I'd like to send flower seeds to a friend in Canada. It occurred to me, however, that I might not be allowed to send them out of the U.S., and/or Canadian customs might not allow them into Canada. I searched all over the U.S. Postal Service website but couldn't find anything about whether a seed exchange is allowed or not. (Maybe I missed it?)

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. BTW, they are not a large quantity, nor were they any type of business transaction. I'm just sharing a handful of seeds of a flowering perennial (Mirabilis jalapa) that a Canadian friend said she'd like to try growing, and I happen to be growing myself. :) If seeds are not allowed thru the mail, for some weird reason, then when I fill out the customs form, I won't say that the contents are seeds.

We just discovered an oak floor under the subfloor in our kitchen. Unfortunately, 2 of the boards are warped. The remaining floor is slightly damaged but fixable. I really want to save the floor. Short of going to a salvage yard and hoping to find similar boards does anyone know of any secrets. Most say it can't be done but i have seen 2 methods on line. Have you tried any? 1) drill holes; wet board; then screw board down and fill holes (I don't think this would allow for the natural expansion/contraction) 2) remove boards; wet and place heavy object or vice straight and allow to dry in sun. I would greatly appreciate any advice, especially if you have been successful! Thank you! Christian

ok, my son will be 4 next month and is still not potty trained all the way. i know some is better than none yes lol. well i have all his underwear (i refuse to go back to pull-ups so he can treat them like a diaper when he can pee in the toilet all day long) that are poopy. i got it out in the toilet and now i don't know what to do with them. how do i get the stains out? my kids are extremely sensitive to bleach, dyes, and perfumes. i don't have any quarters to go do laundry until saturday and he needs fresh underwear tomorrow. i scrubbed them will All free and Clear detergent and have them soaking in the sink in baby detergent. Any other ideas if these stains don't come out? saturday or sunday i can rewash them in a washer.

We planted two cucumbers plants in our garden this summer. One of the plants has produced nice green cucumbers while the other has produced these really long, yellow zucchini-looking things. The plants themselves look identical. Did we accidently plant a zucchini or some wierd cucumber variant?
