I just bought one but am leary about using it and affecting the packaging just in case it ends up sucking and I have to return it. Your views would be appreciated... (I bought the SS1000 model- standard one- I think.)

I love my Scunci Steamer. As with anything else that claims to be easy, the first time use for things like cleaning the oven is very hard work. After that it really cleans so well. After an hour of cleaning my oven door and window, I can finally see through my oven door window CLEARLY(witch is a 100 years old lol)! and I didnt use any chemicals or cleaners. I feel so much more comfortable using the Scunci on my frig without using chemicals that can contaminate food! You wont believe the the things the Scunci will reveal in your kitchen once you use it. It great on EVERYTHING! After the first HARD cleaning with it, it goes much faster and easier now. I now know what I'm up against in the kitchen that Cleaners didnt get to.
I say give it a couple of tries. As I've said before, if you want a clean house you have to work for it. Somethings are just better at getting the job done right.
As for the comment about taking the paint off, you do need to be careful of that, it is after all STEAM and will literally peel the paint off. Be careful of unprotected woods and painted surfaces. Use common sense when deciding what can handle the hot steam.
Happy Cleaning!

I agree -- I have the Shark, not the Scunci. Am allergic to all kinds of smells and cleaners and LOVE my steamer. I can clean the kitchen floor in about 5 minutes now and it is dry instantly, with no stickiness or odor. That alone is worth what I paid for it!! But grout, tile (my whole kitchen counter -- ugh!!), stovetop, etc. all look much better. Didn't have much luck with the oven door window -- then found out the seal was broken and the dirt was *inside* (LOL!!). Will have to try that clothes steaming trick -- didn't even think about that one! Thanks for a new tip. The only thing I haven't had luck with is lime/calcium on toilet/fixtures. But I have *really* hard water . Good luck!!

I have the Shark steam cleaner (canister model) and love it. I have leaned the grout on my tile floors back to the original color and also the grout in the bathroom. I've steamed the curtains and the furniture with good success. It has gotten off sop scum, but hard water and calcium build ups take a lot of effort. It is my favorite way to clean the tile floor, there is no sticky residue and the floor seems brighter because of it. I've also steamed my clothes instead of ironing. How well you like the Scrunci steamer depends on how much you use it and the attachments that have come with it. Be sure and only use distilled water in your cleaner to make it last longer

I have one and used it when I first got it. I cleaned the bathroom floor with it and it took the paint off the baseboard. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't get it. It's not like on TV.

I love mine, It cleans everything and I don't have to use any harsh chemical cleaners. It kills germs and gets into crevices that you can't get to with a sponge. I use it all the time, even on my vehicles to get rid of the stuck on break dust on my rims.
