Murphy's Oil Soap to clean it and once it's dry, apply a light coat of any hardwood floor wax. Keeping it clean is the important part. The wax is not so important. Use a Swiffer to keep dust away in between cleanings. Avoid dragging chairs on it. Make people stand up and then move the chair... never just scoot back!!

I use one cup of white vinegar and an old wash cloth, this is a get down on your hands and knees job as a mop will leave too much water on the floor and you can wring out the wash rag alot better. Then I apply a coat of Orange Glo for wood floors and it leaves a great shine on the floor.

Believe it or not but if you mop your hardwood floors with unsweetened lipton tea it makes them shine like crazy.
