My college's Basketball coach said that if you take a hot shower or bath within "72" hours(he admitted he was unsure of the time) of getting sore muscles from a workout then it can cause an injury, or something bad. because of this, he reccomends cold showers until after that "72"(or whatever) time period. this sounds ridiculous to me, as my entire life i have taken a hot bath after a workout, or the next day when my muscles are sore, and i feel that it really helps relieve the pain. is there any merit in what he is claiming? thanks in advance

I read an article about a device that chiropractors use to put disc's back into place. Its called the Pro Adjuster, If anyone has first hand knowledge about the device I would like to hear from you. I suffer from a bulging disc in my lower. I'm looking for an alternative to surgery, from what I hear your back is never the same after surgery. So if anyone has used it before, could you tell me if it works or how much it costs to have this done.

I have recently starting having migranes and I had my eyes checked, their fine. So my mom suggested going to a Chiropractor. I went and it turns out the upper part of my spine is curved to the right a little and my neck is completely straight, causing my migranes. The chiropractor said I should come and get "adjusted" 3 times per week to fix this. I thought this was crazy considering I thought I was fine so I got a 2nd opinion from another chiropractor, he said that I should just stretch and move my neck more while I'm at work and it will get better over time, he didn't take x-rays or anything and told me not to worry about it. Now, I have 2 chiropractors saying 2 completely different things, what should I do? My insurance doesn't cover it and it's $35 each time I go. I just want to find out what's wrong and get it fixed without getting ripped off. Have any of you ever had to go to a Chiropractor, did they help? Please help....thanks...

Hi, I'm 32 years old and have suffered from torticolis (or so I thought it was) for over a year and a half now. I usually get them every week, and they last 4-5 days. This last one has been going on for 13 days now. I've tried Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, Flexeril, and even Oxycotin!! NOTHING WORKS. Websites prove to be useless and I'm really in a lot of pain. I cannot participate in any of my daily routine activities. My chiropractor won't touch me and my physiotherapist is not helping at all. Can someone give me ANY advice? I've had 1 treatment with the acupuncturist, and it hasn't helped either.
They say that if there was something really wrong it would show in the x-rays, and that I don't need any more tests. Are they waiting until something worse happens to me or what? I love life and have a child that loves to go out with his Mom to play at the park, but even eating and drinking is tough. HELP!!!

I recently had a back injury. I went to the doctor and was told I have muscle spasms in the middle of my back near my spine. Does anyone have any remedies they have found that work to help relieve the pain? How long did you have the muscle spasm before it healed? I was prescribed some pretty strong pain killers and find that these are difficult to take during the day because they tend to make me very groggy. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

I have had neck and shoulder pain and have spent a fortune on massage and osteopathy. The pain is still there and i am thinking of going to see a chiropractor - but they are very expensive and not sure what the difference is between them and osteopath.
I really want to get it sorted as had really sharp pain today in my neck when doing body pump and dont want to give it up!!!

i just dont know what to do. go back to osteopath or go to chiropractor?

I ordered several pair of 10" long carbon rubber electrodes last year, and they were the last two pair before they quit selling it all together (think they were going to cut them down from then on). Does anyone know where I could buy some more of these electrodes? I have serious chronic back pain, stimulator down low and I run a tens on both sides of my spine from the mid-low to high on the muscles, so they have to be long.

I've tried several different tens units where I can run 8 pads at once (4 of the rubber) and I can't stand them....hence why I have about 4 dang near tens units sitting around the house! ;-) Point being, I'm really in need of the longest ones I can find.

Thank you,

Chad

Such as ironing, washing dishes, preparing food etc. as I can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time due to arthritis. Can anyone tell me where I can get one? I've looked on a few mobility aids sites but all I can see are the shower stools, or bar stools which are too high. It would need to be of adjustable height as I am quite small. I'm sure I remember seeing one where the seat tilted slightly and really only supported your weight while you stood. But this was years ago before I needed it so I didn't pay much attention! Can anyone tell me where I can find one and what it is actually called?

I am seeing a chiropractor for my car accident I just got into and he is doing spinal manipulation. I am weary of this because it seems to me that since he started I am having pinching feelings in my neck that I didn't have before. I know your spine and neck are very sensitive and can cause paralysis in some if it is turned the wrong way. Also I heard they are "quack" doctors....Are they? Did you or anyone you know go to one? What was the result? I was wondering what I should do?

The outside edge of my right foot hurts when I step on it with all my weight. However, it doesn't hurt when i push and rub it with my fingers. The pain is right under that bump in the side of your foot. What could this be and should I get checked out?

Hello!

Recently I have been having what I am quite sure is hip pain. It is a throbbing pain and it is in my bone. I get the throbbing in my femur and lower back (back of hip)
The pains comes on suddenly and can last from 5 - 40 seconds.

I am worried because the pain is in my bone.
Sometimes when I walk the pain becomes constant at the joint.

Sometimes I get the throbbing in my knee bone and my other hip bone although these two things are rare.

What could this be?
My friend has had bone cancer so Im scared of that.
Thanks and what should I do?

Im a teenager female btw.
