okay uh I had knee arthroscopy may 1st it went well. but when I stand on it long or walk a longing distance the..... I guess the muscles gets all tensed up and my knee throbs, it'll disappear if I rest it for a while. but I am wondering when it will if it will ever fully heal and if so how long? I'm guessing long. But about how long how many months or a year?

I have had a knee arthroscopy and it only takes 6 weeks to recover. If you are still having pain you should go back to the Ortho doc and see what is going on.

Sorry, but there's way too many variables to answer your question right. A lot depends on how your body heals. If you're fairly young then you'll probably be able to get back to normal soon. Just follow the doctor's orders and physical therapy. I would say you'll be off your leg for 4 - 6 weeks, but probably after week 2 you'll be doing physical therapy. Good Luck!

Based on what I've read about arthroscopic surgery and talked to others who have had the surgery it can take about 6-8 weeks to fully recover from the procedure, but may take a bit longer depend on how much work was done during the surgery. I would recommend getting back in touch with your doctor to let them know about the pain you are still having to see what they suggest.
