My chiropractor is great. All Dr.s know how to do is cut things out or off of you. And prescribe drugs. Either way there trying to stop pain, not cure the cause. By all means go to the chiropractor.

One thing you have to take into consideration is that by asking a question about Chiropractors on here, you are going to attract a lot of stupid answers.
The fact is that Chiropractic is the largest alternative health care network in the world. The profession didn't get to that position by not working. There are plenty of stories about people suffering strokes from Chiropractors, but most of these are made up by people who simply don't like Chiro's. The incidence of strokes after seeking Chiropractic treatment is less than the amount of strokes as a result of over the counter pain killers.
Also, some people seem to think that their disks ruptured or ligaments were torn as a result of a Chiropractic adjustment. The fact is that with the force the Chiropractor uses, these things are not possible. The patient would have had to have already had the problem before they went in, but wishful thinking perhaps kept away some of the pain.
If I was in your shoes I would definitely go back, but make sure you tell him what you are feeling. Some people are often scared to tell a Dr something if they think they won't like the answer, believe me, they would prefer to know. Just ask lots of questions like what is he doing for this new issue and why. Often knowing more about what is going on will make you feel better about the treatment itself.
Good luck.

If you are having any doubts about the effectiveness of the chiropractor run. I had a cervical spine fusion operation because a chiropractor didn't bother to make sure what he was doing was causing more injury. I am now disabled and live my life on pain medication.

After a car accident your chiropractor should have asked to see any scans, xrays, etc., or arranging for the same. Tell your chiropractor about the pains in your neck to find out what their explanation is. I'd stop the treatment now if you haven't had a full investigation of your spine.

A typical chiropractor has about four years of study, that's not to say they can be good.
When you have a debilitating injury and your in pain. You need MRI"s to see what's going on inside you, you may need A CAT scan to see what's happening or an arthroscope to see. You just can't start twisting and turning muscles.
I think originally a chiropractor was for muscles and relief of muscle pain, now they, some, can claim to cure blindness. It was out of hand.
Go see you regular doctor and let him make the decision as to which doctor you should see.
In the meantime go see a good neurologist for now.

I use to think they are the better than orthodox doctors after I had one manupulations that stopped my spondyloisis for 6 months. However,I recently came across an article that spinal manupulations can be fatal if the vessels get ruptured during most of the procedures. Please be careful
