I went to the Chiropractor because my neck clicks and now I am experiencing numbness in my back and neck. I am also very tired and my neck is stiff.

Is this normal because I have an appointment on monday and want to make sure its fine.

Chiropractors shouldn't be allowed to work on necks, because of the risk of nicking an artery or something and causing a stroke to the person. It's important to go to an ER right now, as the guy could have pulled something that shouldn't have been pulled, or else this could cause a serious problem or even death.

I only know what I learn from respectable docs who told me not to go to chiropractors. And at least when someone before me posts something I don't agree with, I don't attack them. Maybe the *** below me doesn't realize the dangers that go with chiropractors working on people's necks. Dumbass jerk!

This is an effect that is sometimes seen post Chiropractic treatment in some patients, particularly when the area they are working on the upper neck. I think its a good idea to ring the office just to speak to the Chiropractor and let him know whats going on, that way he can decide whether he needs to see you before monday or not.

I don't agree with the first poster. The incidence of a problem with the vertebral artery in Chiropractic patients is much less than the incidence of stroke in people taking simple pain killers that you can get over the counter. This being said, its clearly off topic and not what you are after.

To answer the question it is somewhat normal in that it does happen sometimes, but is not really what the Chiro wants. Just speak to them because they are in the best position to decide on what action to take next to best assist you.

Make an appointment with a regular neurosurgeon and tell him what happen. The chiropractor may have pinched a nerve or compounded an already bad situation. You may have to see a neurosurgeon.
