I have been diagnosed with runners-knees (patello-femoral pain syndrome). I am in physical therapy to increase the surrounding muscles, but will the cartilage that has worn away ever come back? What other remedies are helpful for this condition?

P.S. I do not run or do any strenuous exercises that I can contribute to this disorder. I am a 34 year old female.

i think its a meniscal tear and had done research coz i could hear a popping sound during the pains when i bend my knees. i honestly don't know how i've hurt my knees. i used to be able to jog for about an hour. then one time during jogging i felt some pains on the outer side of my knees during the 30th minute but continued on until i finished my lap. the pains went away about a week after. the next week i jogged again but i could no longer go on after the 30th minute coz i felt the the knee pains again and its intolerable. 3 to 4 days after the pain went away again. i waited for 3 weeks thinking it would heal fully, then i jogged again but the pain came again shorter than expected after the 15th minute. and again 3 to 4 days later it went away. do some people have the similar experience? wouldn't it heal just by resting? i don't think i have enough money for surgery if it really is a meniscal tear..

My brother punched my in the forehead 3 years ago and the lump is still there, and I'm very self-conscious about it. How could I make it decrease in size? Any medical procedures that won't leave scarring? Anything I can do on my own?

I had an evening class tonight and about 5 minutes before I get up, I notice my lower back felt kind of funny, but I didn't think anything of it. But right as I was getting up to leave, suddenly I couldn't move or get up, my back was in such excruciating pain. How I willed myself to the car seemed a miracle in itself. I can barely move... my lower back just is completely out once I tried getting up from my chair. Does anyone know what caused this? A muscle spasm? Pinched nerve? I can barely move. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

5 months ago I fractured my tibia and fibula and had a rod inserted, along with 4 screws. I have noticed that when I shave my legs, the hair grows back much faster on my broken leg. My left leg (the not broken one) can go days without being shaved, however the broken leg (my right one) has "stubble" after a day. I was just curious.

I played basketball at school today and the ball hit me striaght on my pniky finger and jammed it. I went to the nurse and gave me a brace. I am a left handed shooter . The nurse said nothing about playing any sports with it. After that i didn't want to play any sport with a ball. This happened today at 8:30 AM Central Time. I really want to continue playing basketball but the jammed finger might get worse, or i can't play well. I don't know what to do . Please help me!!! And how do I heal a jammed finger more quickly.

I take 2 hours of dance class a week and I think I've got shin splits but I'm not sure. There are times when my shins hurt terribly and sometimes it's so bad that I can't walk for 10 or 20 minutes at a time.

Today when I was getting out of the car I hit my head on the roof. Don't ask how. I just did. Anyway, I was wearing a headband. The kind that has the little spikey comb things on the inside. I hit my head really hard on the headband and it caused a sore that bled. The very back of the roof of my mouth was faintly hurting. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee one week ago for a torn meniscus. I am walking around- as a matter of fact, I actually walked out of the recovery room with no assistance. The area above my knee, (NOT on top of my knee cap) is still very swollen which causes me difficulty with range of motion. I have had 2 days of physical therapy and my knee seems more swollen than usual. Anyone had the same experience? How long did it take to be "normal" again?

Woke up three days ago with very sore jaw on the right side, seems to be getting worse. Its getting hard to chew. My ear inside is not sore. I'm not dizzy, and I can hear fine. So, I don't think its my ear. Feels like a pulled a muscle in my jaw on the right side. How is this possible when I was sleeping. I went to the walk in clinic but there was a line up out the door. I can't really find any info on the net about this. Any ideas?

I recently had a car crash and dislocated (type 3) my AC Joint (Acromio-clavicular joint ), I've been told that surgery is an option to reapir the disfigurement; but will be my choice.

Has anyone had this injury and gone through the surgery.
