I got a pencil point into my
finger, not so very deep, but
it at least gave the finger a
1-2 cm long trace. I saw something black inside but I think that was some blood thing. I tried to see if there was a pencil point in there but I couldn't see it (or don't now) but I see a small trace of the pencil point. I didn't have time to clean it, but it looks like it will be gone soon.

It feels like the hearth is pumping more at some times, and it just feels somewhat weird in the upper head (it doesn't hurt or something), do I need to worry? What should I do? And what if I had a little pencil point there? Will the finger remove it by itself or do you have any tips or answers on this?

Very thankful for answers.

My elderly mother was taken to an Emergency Department and not monitored properly after being asked to walk and subsequently fell and broke her hip. Who should be liable for her care and rehab? They are claiming that they are not liable. Please help.

I have been suffering from pain in my knee and quad for a year. I have had xrays, MRIs, and treatments from doctors and physios. My MRI showed that I have tendonitis in my quad, but didn't explain the pain in the patella.

I have done EVERYTHING that I have been told to fix this condition. When the pain was the worst, I used ice and anti-inflammatories. I had physio appointments twice a week for months for massage, acupuncture and to be given exercises to strengthen the muscle. I did all the exercises I was given for months and months.

During this time I have also started seeing a corrective chiropractor twice a week to straighten my spine, and I also now have orthodics becauase I was rolling in and my ankle, knee, hip alignment was out. Having done all of this, the only thing that stops the pain is if I stop all exercise. When I do no activity for a few weeks, the pain is gone. The minute I do any excercise, it comes back. What do I need to do to fix this problem for good??

I was wondering I have been told by my job and other people that the docter should have either put a boot or a cast on me because of the fracture because I could injure it more. My docter sent me home with just an ace wrap and prescritions for vicoden and ibuprophen 800 mg with no follow up appointment told me that was not nessecery. She also released me to go back to work with no restrictions. My job was very upset and said I should have at least had a boot and another x-ray with follow up to make sure I was healing right. They would not let me go back to work. My foot and ankle area is still swollen and badly bruised. Should I change doctors? couldn't this doctor get suide for something like that? Should I have been wearing a boot or a cast this whole time? Thanks for your answers! This happened a week ago. My doctor only gave me a five day work release.

I think I broke my smallest toe (left foot) a couple of nights ago. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow morning, but is there anything else I should do for now?

Im a 34 year old female. I've been having pain, stiffness, & swelling in my right hip, knee, and ankle for about a week.
The leg feels heavy in the calf when I walk on it. I have varicose & spider veins in the leg and a history of severe trauma and DVT, in the same leg. Worried about possible recurrent DVT, I went to the local ER, last night. Doc there did several xrays. No broken bones. He said it didn't appear to be a clot because several of the usual "Homeing signs" of a dvt are not there. He sent me home with a prescription for pain killers and anitiinflamatory medicine and told me to apply ice, then heat.
Ice makes it hurt more. Heat helps the pain a lot.
Should I still be worried ? I don't have any medical insurance
and can't pay any of the local doctors money up front, so my only medical option is the local emergency room, right now.
