Have you ever fallen really hard and then gotten up and started running or walking really fast? Why do we do this?

We do it to increase our blood circulation and the big one, to avoid as much stiffness to the injured area as possible. We have a natural tendency to baby the injury or "guard" the injury. If you are unable to get up, that is when you need a stretcher.

I don't know how technical an answer you want, but, moving and shaking rapidly after falling hard is a way for us to mentally and emotionally get our wits about us, or, as some may more formally say "regain our equilibrium" following such a jarring impact. And, as jesse n said, it helps us get our circulation and other bodily functions back in order after that traumatic encounter with external objects. I hope it works for you if the time ever comes. God Bless you.

blood carries everything that you need to heal. when you walk or run, it increases bloodflow to the areas that are injured. so walking it off actually speeds up the healing, and usually the nerves that feel the pain are the first to be dealt with.
