General Health Care - December 2007

Recently I've noticed EVERY morning for the past few months I've waken up light-headed. After I walk around and get to getting up I'm fine but it's just weird. Anyone had this? Done research on it? or know what causes it?

I got the strangest letter in the mail earlier. It was addressed supposedly by a government office, saying that I got some type of refund for $25 from international transactions in 2006. It seemed very odd to me, since I've never seen anything like that before, so I threw it away. I didn't think to wash my hands right afterwards and went back to typing. I absent-mindedly started chewing on one of my fingers and then realized I never washed my hands. My tongue feels like it is mildly burning along both edges now, I'm salivating more now, and my throat feels funny (not like it's closing up or anything though). There's also a weird taste in my mouth now, almost like soap. I tried both eating and drinking and I'm still experiencing it. I have an ex I broke up with a few months ago who basically thinks I'm satan that has an uncle who works in the FBI, supposedly, so now I'm really paranoid that maybe it was a set-up and perhaps I've been poisoned? Please help! Is it just my anxiety or what?

My boyfriend is now missing the lower three disc in his back. He's managing to pain alright, with meds and losing about 135lbs. But it's getting to the point he doesn't want to be on the meds forever and is worring about the long-term effect the meds will do. So now he's looking into surgery and wants to know his options and all the questions relating to them. He's already gone to a few doctors, but he still doesn't like the odd of recovery. He's a very active person and still wants to be able to do what he's already doing. Hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling and so on. Out of the few people he knows that have had similar back surgery, only one has full recovered. Any thing that might point me in a better direction and answers will be very much appreciated.

I just went to a clinic for some persistent back pain I've been having. They took an X-ray, gave me some Rxs and a shot in the butt. All she said was "it's a painkiller." Anyone know what that painkiller might have been? I like to look things up to see what I'm getting but I don't know what to look up? I have to say I am a little loopy...

When I cross my thumb of my right hand over my palm toward my little finger I have no strength, no pain, but no strength. zippers, buttons are noticably become a problem with me. I have a soft rubber ball that I can squeeze flat between my thumb and palm of my left hand. But I can barely squeeze it at all in my right palm. I have semi noticed this for about one and a half years but getting worse in the last six months.I am right handed, 52 yrs old and work out with weights and cardio.

Last night I was in my front yard with my dog, and the neighbor's cat came by, and she tried to chase after it, which means that she pulled me to the ground, and I landed on my right middle finger. I iced for a little while, but now it hurts really bad. I can bend it, but it hurts, and if I touch it, it hurts then too. It doesn't hurt at the tip so much, mostly at the bottom by my hand and in the middle. What can I do? I don't want to go to the hospital/doctor; is there anything I can do?

I've had a large ganglion cyst on my left wrist since October last year. I've accidentally hit my wrist on something, and obviously there was a little discomfort. Today all of a sudden, it's been painful, with periods of fairly sharp pains shooting to it.

I don't know if size would have anything to do with it, but the diameter of it is just a little bit smaller than a nickel if not the same size as a nickel. I went to the doctor to have it checked (the hand doctor??) and he said they can't drain it becuase it's too big. Is there any reason that you may know of for this pain?

Last night I slept on my back wrong and I woke up this morning (around 6am) and discovered that my back hurt really bad. The pain is in my upper (just below shoulder blades) to upper middle. I am 13 yrs old so I was just wondering what can I do to make it not hurt anymore? It's hurt all day and it's now 5:48pm. That's almost 12 hours. The pain isn't sharp, it's more of a dull achy pain.

ive been you know.. passing gas aLOT lately along with having gas pains, which REALLLLY hurt, and my doctor said its because i dont eat enough fibers, and that i dont do number 2 enough. so ive been eating more fibers, and its not helping, any. my doctor also said to eat more fruits and stuff, so i have been. and its not working - ive also tried gas pills [gas-x, beano, and some of these things i got at Target] and nothing is helping... is there really anything else i can do?

Has anyone experienced this, or has a friend or relative who has? She had a car accident, a few bruises and shaken up and seemed fine but immediately following started losing things, confused, trouble word finding, etc yet medical testing shows up with nothing injured in the brain...please comment if you have any experience and if so, what did your or your friend do in terms of treatment?

Not long ago i was whatching a steve wilkos show based on a confession of a pedaphile. As he was describing his actions i started getting this rage like i felt like beating him. I coundn't imagine what those girls had to go through, afterall they were only three. I have a little sister thats three and i can't imagine anyone going near her like that.

If you were confronting a pedaphil and he told you he got sexually aroased around a three year old how would that make you feel? How would you react?

I wish I could remember what I done. Since last Monday Dec. 3rd my foot has been hurting. It is at the base of my toes starting with the 1 beside my big toe on my right foot. the top of my foot is "puffy", hurts to put pressure on it when walking or standing. Very sore if I touch and put pressure on the top. It even feels hot to the touch. All I think I can remember is that possibly a box fell out of my cabinet and hit my foot possibly contact between corner on box and foot at the toe. I don't think it is broken or fractured especially since I really don't know what I done. Is it something I need to have checked out or just keep it propped up?

It all started about maybe 4-5 days ago. I think. But it's not a painful feeling. Just a feeling as if my hand is about to go to sleep. But I still have feeling and capable of moving my fingers and hand around. I also crack my knuckles alot and tend to rest my elbow on my computer desk as I browse the web. I am also 15 years old. And a bit overweight. But as I am 6'1 I say I am a tad over weight. But im not sure if that would matter anyways. If anyone could please help me for I am concerned about my health, because I have looked this up on Yahoo! answers and they are saying it could be a sign of a heart problem, Diabetes, Or carpal tunnel. But my father says I more than likley pinched a nerve. Please somone help me with this. Thank you.

What is it called when the mucsle in your foot freezes up? Like if you move your foot a certain way sometimes the muscle in it will get really stiff. If I touch I can actually feel how stiff it is. It aways happend like right in the center of my foot and lasts for a bout one minute. It hurts terrbily thought. What is this called and what causes it?

My little toe has swollen up for no apparant reason. I don't remember banging it or wearing too-tight shoes today, so why has it swollne up so bad? It's throbbing and red and bigger than the little toe on my other foot. I took some painkillers and put some ice on it, which has helped slightly, but i'm worried why on earth it has done this. ????
