My friends husband woke up in the middle of the night and it was cold out side. He got very upset when he noticed his wife and son down the hall had the windows open and the fan on low. He firmly said they were "stupid" that it didn't make any sence at all and no wonder they get sick! I'm sure he was still a little groggy and irritated but still isn't that harsh? Fresh air is fresh air... no? -west coast

I am 22 years only and get very painful aches and pains every time the weather changes. The only remedy that seems to work is by applying heat to the pain. Is this normal?

I am interested in who is eligible for this. Someone told me that I should check it out, because I no longer have health insurance, and have a few things that need to be fixed health wise. I am 21, a full time college student, and have no income. I currently live with my boyfriend, but we are not married, he makes almost 40 a year, but his 19 year old sister lives with us, along with his 76 year old father who is being put on medicaid. My financial aid and loans completely cover my school funds, because even with my dads income added in, it is not enough for school. He also does not have insurance because he can not afford it. My boyfriend has it through his work, but will they count his income too even though my permanant address is my dads? Please leave some info on this. I looked it up, but could not find much on eligibility for it. Thanks.

Hi, I just found out that after a sprain in my ankle, sprain in my big toe and fractured foot. That nearly 3 months after I hurt it, that now I have RSD.

Has anyone else ever had this before?
How long does it take to heal?
What is the longest it can take to get better?

I have it in my foot and my foot is swollen. The doctor is sending me to a therapist.

Has anyone ever had this before? Please tell me how long it takes to get better, etc.

What is the longest it can take?
Will it ever get better?
Is there anything in particular that I need to know about this?

Thank you.

I have been dealing with chronic pain for almost 6 years. I have a total of 5 cervical and lumbar disk herniations. I have become depressed and am limited in what I can do. I am also more anxious then ever due to this. My quality of life has deteriorated substantially and have lost my over 15 year factory job. I was wondering if anyone else is suffering. What happened? How long have you been hurting? Has it affected your physical and mental health? What kind of coping skills have you developed? Have you lost financially? I am just curious and would love to hear if anyone has techniques to cope with life this way.

I am a student nurse and at clinicals was told to clean a patient and chnage the bed. The bed was soiled with stool and blood, so I wore a yellow gown and double gloves. I had a cat scratch in my arm, so thats why I wore the gown. I didnt wear a mask or a face shield, since bllod wouldnt splash me in the face....later the nurse informed me that the patient was HIV positive...now IM freakin out....What are the possibilities I probably got it from changeing the soiled bed with blood...? Thanks...am just so worried...

doctor gave me Imitrex, which I took and that worked but I guess you can't take it a lot or often. Therefore, she presribed me Promethazine. I have to be honest, I'm EXTREMELY skeptical to try it out just by reading the side effects. Does anyone know if they are really that common? The shortness of breath, the uncontrollable movements, etc? Does anyone know anything better to cure a migraine. Currently I have a headache, it's not throbbing so I know it's not a migraine but I wanted to try Excedrine Migraine too, any thoughts? Advice? Etc? If there are any doctors or nurses out there, would love to hear from you!!! Thanks!!

Hi everyone! I am 5 1/2 months pregnant (22 weeks). I recently found out i either tore a muscle under my left breast around the ribs or have a muscle strain. Yesturday i sneezed and i felt a pop and now the pain is worse than ever. I obviously pulled the muscle again making it worse. Now it's almost impossible to even cough cause it hurts soo bad and sneezing is just out of the ? considering that's what make it worse. The doc said the only thing i can do it take Tylenol to ease the pain and it could take up to weeks maybe even a month or so for it to completely heal. My ? is....can this muscle strain affect the baby and can coughing a lot put stress on the baby. I mean im in a lot of pain when i cough, very sharp stabbing pain..does it affect the baby for ME to be in pain. Please help!! Thanks! :)

How quickly would he need to be taken to the doctors?

Once in a while (like usually once a month) if I oversleep or overeat the night before and have sweets on top of it - I wake up with a dull headache behind one eye. I also get really nauseated. I read about migraines being one sided and might be behind the eye but alot of people say theirs is on one side of their head more (usually temples). Does anyone get them behind the eye? I'm trying to figure out if it's a migraine I'm getting or sinus headache possibly? Also, if I take advil it doesn't take it away completely.

I must of injured it at leats 10 years ago as I have always suffered with my back. I am now 32. I did go for physio in my early 20's and was simply told I had an over arched back. It now looks more complicated. The Radiologist said it was rare to see a case so severe and wondered how I coped. Does anyone know, can they push the tailbone, Coxis back into place?? Are there braces available. I suffer with my neck and sleep very badly at night. When on my side by back hurts less but my shoulder hurts, when on my back my neck hurts less but my back hurts. I can't win! I went to the hospital yesterday and was simply told I would have to live with my neck pain and use painkillers for the rest of my life. It just doesn't feel good enough.

I have been trying to sleep every night, but I can't seem to sleep at all. I get drowsy and tired in the day, but don't sleep thinking it will let me go in the night but thats not working. I sometimes take a warm bath/ shower to see if that will help, no. I also work out even harder than before to see if that will help, no. Does anyone have a Idea without the help of a doctor, but maybe a doctors theory?

i got cast with no need for surgery. broken wrist care info from er was basic & generic but not great & office that put cast on didnt send any printed info home on how to care for broken wrist. they just gave appt date for next thurs.
it been 14 yrs since i skated last & i'm not sure i'm getting on skates again maybe if i wear expensive wrist guards. i dont like the modern skate music much anyhow its ok but different.
by the way the percoset & ibuprophen are doing much for pain & i can barely feel the ice through cast when i apply ice fro 15min.
are there any natural anti inflammatories / pain killers to reduce swelling?
i'd try searching myself it would take forever with 1 finger besides computer posture aint best for broken wrist right now. lol.
