hi. i have had impingement syndrome in both of my shoulders for the last year and a bit. i've been to over 10 physio therapy sessions and am doing the exercises on a daily basis. i'm 15 years old and play a lot of rugby. i can't do press ups or bench press any amount of wait. i really need this to clear up so i can build some muscle and play properly. does anybody have any ideas about what i can do to heal this?

I also have this in my Right shoulder. After Arthoscopic Shoulder Surgery to repair a torn rotator cup I returned to a physical job, in 30 days causing the permanent Impingement syndrome. As far as what helps....just not using it, or sleeping wrong on it, lifting any significant weights, etc. I have to live with mine, not anything they can do for mine. Honestly, if you are only 15 yrs old....and already have this...and are still overusing the shoulders, you can have some real problems as you grow up. See a Good Orthopedic Surgeon, and hopefully an MRI is taken. Xrays...dont show the damage, only an MRI. I did the physical Therapy, for months and months, and still the pain increased, and the use of the shoulder and arm decreased. After the MRI...the Physical Therapy was stopped immediately, as it does no good if you have a tear in the rotator cup. Use the arms less and they will feel better. Tylenol helps the pain. good luck
