I went to scratch a part of my back and I reached back and lifted my head a little and I had this sharp, stabbing pain above my shoulder blade. Then I got it again when I looked down and now it won't go away. Did I pinch a nerve or something?

Could just be an over stretched muscle. Or worse possibly is a bulging disk. The disk may put pressure on the nerve endings causing the pain. If it persists, see your general doctor, then he can refer you to the proper type of specialist once he is done diagnosing you. Could be chiropractic or a nerve specialist. Good luck.

I have been there, you may have a muscle that was tight and you just stretched it to far, it should get better with a couple motrin, a pinched nerve will take longer to heal, thats one of the ways you can tell. If its not better soon, head for the doc.
