i want to either be a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant (PTA)

do they do the same thing basically? what does one do that the other doesnt?

currently i would prefer the PTA because it only takes 2 years to become one instead of 6. but i might change my mind depending on what each really does.

I had a druken fight and took a hit to the nose but didn't feel any pain when intoxicated.... for 2 days it has been hurting a little but if it was broken would it hurt a lot ?

I broke my inner Tibia in my left ankle 5 weeks ago, from being bucked off a horse.
A week later I had surgery. 2 screws.

I am now a stupid walking boot.

Because I have lost so much muscle, my docter/surgerion is having my do the ABC's with my big toe. Which does make me twist and turn and what not but I don't see a lot of progress.

I was wondering is there any exercises that will help gain back muscle.

I have tried walking with the boot (with crutches) but I'm afraid to put 30 pounds on my left leg (even though I'm instructed too.)



anything will help.

I have been getting a pain in my brain. It only happens sometimes. But i get a 5 second sharp pain in my brain and also i have been getting some scratches noise from my head. It only happens sometimes like once every 2 weeks or so.

I am more terrified at the loss of work and the financial burden then anything.....does it really take 6 months to heal. I am a self employed cosmetologists. My last surgery was in april of 07 and things didn't go very well. they removed facert joints as well as decompressions and diskectomys, have had alot of nurve damage and am in so much pain that i can't stand it. I know there is alot of controversy over fusions with degenerative disk disease...your imput would be greatly appreciated.

I woke up this morning with a back ache. It's the upper part of my back that's hurting. Sometimes the pain also goes to the front. It hurts more when I gulp or take a deep breath. I cut off the end of my thumb and have been taking loratab for about 18 days. I just stopped yesterday but i got extreme cold sweats and became very emotional. Pharmacist says to wean off slowly. Is that the best way?

I am still wondering if I should be worried about my leg. It is now seven weeks since I tore the muscle on a trip to France.
I have only seen a physiotherapist is the UK who got my foot back on the ground after 4 weeks. I still suffer with swelling which I can get rid of by elevating. But now I keep getting very painfull spasms. I told my physiotherapist who has now advised me to wear something tight on my leg. My leg was also cold and a different colour but she could feel a pulse. She has also given me a stick to try and get me to stop limping. I cannot drive due to the weakness in my left leg and it was too painful for my muscle. Is this normal in week 7?

I recently came down with a major head cold, sinus pressure, runny nose, the whole nine yards feeling like crap basically. My gf wanted us to have sex that next day I came down with it, needless to say I wasnt gonna turn her down but my problem wasnt the foreplay and all, it was getting it up. We tried and tried but I just couldnt seem to get to that point. Does anyone know if certain medication, like Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride, those decongestion over the counter pills, or even just being sick in general, effect something like this, can it? This is the first time its ever happened, so im thinking its being sick related.

Hi all, i need advice. Im really really tired at the moment, im not sure if its cos im due a holiday but let me explain whats happening. Im going to bed between 9 and 10 at the moment, falling asleep quite quickly, waking up extremely tired, and having hot and cold flushes all day. At present im not due on so its not that. I do have severe back problems so taking lots of pain killers throughout the day, im waking up with the headache and neck ache that lasts all day and in general im lacking any kind of energy. I think its my back but what i need is some good advice on medication i can take to build my immune system and give me some energy. Im quite emotional over the pain in my back and lately im crying at any opertunity, please help!!! I cant do much exercise because my back is not up to much at the mo!!!

My stepmom called me tonight in tears. She said my Dad was not feeling well and he needed an ambulance but he refused to let her call. I went over there, and he was slumped on the table. She was holding an icepack on his neck. He was sweating profusely, shaking, and all he kept saying was "I just need to go to sleep"... We took his blood pressure and it was 59/35. We took him to the ER, and I had to leave because I had my very cranky and tired 2 year old with me. This was hours ago, and my stepmom said they still haven't said anything about what could be wrong. They are going to do x-rays, catscans, and all kinds of other tests. Are there any doctors or nurses that can clue me in? I'm so worried, my stomach is turning. I'm not ready to loose my dad.

For the past month maybe longer i havent felt very well my back kills my head kills and i cant sleep or eat?
i dont know whats wrong and i dont have health insurance at the moment could someone possibly tell me whats wrong or give me an idea?

I have severe pain in my groin area. I am also feeling like i'm going to throw up. I am presently taking percocet for the pain but the pain seems to be worse. Does anyone have any ideas to help control the pain (heat, cold). I don't want to go to the ER because they get rid of the pain for a bit when i go there but it always comes back. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I have been referred to a local surgeon.

Hey all,

I am a college student who has recently been experiencing some slight vertigo while working on my on-campus library. It happens briefly and it is not from getting up too quickly. I have been looking into taking some motion sickness medicine, but I am not sure that is the best bet. Could this be more serious than I think? I don't worry too much about it because after all, it is just dizziness that I feel. I am a college student, it could just be stress and exhaustion... right? Input would be highly appreciated.
