I broke my inner Tibia in my left ankle 5 weeks ago, from being bucked off a horse.
A week later I had surgery. 2 screws.

I am now a stupid walking boot.

Because I have lost so much muscle, my docter/surgerion is having my do the ABC's with my big toe. Which does make me twist and turn and what not but I don't see a lot of progress.

I was wondering is there any exercises that will help gain back muscle.

I have tried walking with the boot (with crutches) but I'm afraid to put 30 pounds on my left leg (even though I'm instructed too.)

anything will help.

Broke my foot and leg in 92. I had to wait to get the boot off before I could do any thing IT DOES TAKE TIME! The ABC's with the toe are to keep the nerves active, the 30lb will help but I can not see how you are going to do that with the boot on. Try tighten the muscles in the leg and relax them, no matter what your going to do; it is going to hurt. I saw a grown foot ball player with the same injury as we have cry. You have to grin and bear it, but once the boot is off you can do step ups and downs, bend the ankle left to right, up and down stand and push down on your toes and rock your foot back and forth. It took four months before I could go back to work and another three months before I could walk with out pain.

Spring is right around the corner and retailers have already begun stocking their floors with warm-weather goods -- including swimsuits. Besides looking great on the beach, commonsense tells us that one of the best things you can do for your overall health is to drop a few pounds. Or maybe more than a few pounds
