General Health Care - March 2007

I have major stomach pains almost two or three times a day. they aren't bad enough that i think i need immediate medical attention. I usuallly get the pain in my middle to upper stomach and it is a sort of sharp, searing pain. i don't normally have any other symptoms beside the stomach pain. they come on randomly and i never know when they will happen. please tell me what you think this is. and could you possibly tell me how to get rid of the pain. please and thank you.

I got into a patch of poison ivy (I guess - actually, I don't know how I got it..somewhere at the barn) and I didn't realize it was poison ivy (never had it before)so I was scratching it and now it is all over my arms, and it's horrible. I've tried calamine lotion and nothing is working, and it's so bad to the point where I've got huge blister-things everywhere. Anyone know of anything to help soothe and take the itch away? I'd be appreciative forever!

Last year at the end of may I hit the bottom of my knee cap on the corner of a cement wall. I was immediately taken to the hospital where they took x-rays and such. They discovered that my knee cap was out of place and re-adjusted it (frick did that ever hurt!) I was given T3's and crutches. I went for a check-up a month later and was found to be fine and that my knee shouldn't bother me anymore. However I have found that my knee is in almost constant pain when I stand or even sit for more than an hour. I was comparing both of my knees and noticed that my left knee cap (the one that was hurt) was at least 3 cm off in comparison to the other. I then went to the doctor but he said that it was nothing to worry about and sent me home. He didn't even do anything, he just glanced at it. I tried going to another doctor but was told that they won't do anything without my doctor's approval. I don't know what to do know.

Okay, on Thrusday, this idiot in my geometry class pulled a chair out from underneath me and I hit my head on the desk in back of me. It really hurts, and I'm dizzy. I didn't go to school on Friday, and today I had interjestion twice, I threw up once, and at dinner I felt nausious. My dad and i went to Fire and Ice, and after only one plate I felt sick. I ate two plates, and I'm still full even though that was like 2 hours ago, and I usually am ALWAYS hungary. It's kind of weird, I can usually eat as much as my dad, he ate 3 plates, which is what I usually eat when I go there, but I got sick after only 1.

Anyway, these are just some of the symtoms I've been feeling. I mean, I went to a doctor right after it, and she said I'd be fine, but I don't feel fine, my head hurts and my I feel nausuous. What's wrong with me. Should I go back to the doctor?

I got a mild concussion today at a soccer game. The trainer told me I should be fine, just not to sleep for a while and have someone check on me every couple hours. I'm worried that it might be more severe. I have a horrible headache. Anyone experience this before or have any other advice?

my friend was in the hospital from a car accident, and he had part of his skull removed to relieve swelling on the brain. well, 2 days later, his blood pressure began dropping, then a day and a half later, he passed away. the doctors said because his blood pressure got to low, he died in his "medicated sleep." IS THIS POSSIBLE!? He just passed away last night, and I can't believe its true. It sounds so fixable, why isn't it possible? HE DIDN"T SURVIVE =(

I need shoulder surgery and have been seeing a Dr. since Dec. After a battery of tests and monthly visits to his office, he didn't even remember why I was there. He came in the room looked at my chart and said "you pulled a muscle and you need physcal therepy." ( Iv' been in therepy since Dec.) At my last appointment he told me I needed surgery so I was confused and asked him if the torn muscle had healed and he said "what torn muscle?" After looking at my chart again he said "oh yes well here it is you need surgery." So here is my question. Should I let a Dr. who can't even remember me after treating me for 5 months cut me open? What do you think?

I'm 28 and lately I've been having back pain only in the morning. I'll have it from the first time I wake up in the morning around 5am until about 1 hour after I get up. I usually get up at 8am and the pain is gone by 9am.

I have had the same bed for over a year and the pain has only been in the last 2 weeks. I have a $3500 Temperpedic (the original memory mattress(, not a cheap knock off).

Here's some stuff that i found that works:

1. Perscription savings card if you are a AAA member! We saved 75% on our costs for my husbands post surgical pain meds.
2. ??? I wish I had more tips!! Besides staying physically healthy through diet and exercise.

What doesn't work:

1. Trying to price shop at different clinics or hospitals. They will NOT give up the information, and claim not to "know" the price until after the procedure is completed.
2. Talking to the administrator or financial counsellor - everyone says to do this - it totally didn't work for us.

Frist of all, I'm not sure if it's possible to have a bruised bone. But anyways, yesterday I went snowboarding and I was trying to do a box and I fell and landed on my arm kinda wrong. Now it hurts, but I don't see any bruises and it doesn't look swollen or anything. It hurts when I move it and when I press on a certan part of the bone in my arm, it reminds me of my shinsplints I used to get from running. I know shinsplints is when your muscle is tearing away from your bone...but what is making the bone in my arm hurt?? Is it a fracture or bruise?? Thanks to all who can answer this question for me!!!

I stumped my toe yesterday and this morning I woke up and it hurt REALLY bad!! It's purple-ish and hurts to walk. every time I touch it (if I can stand the pain) pus comes out along with blood. I have a doctors app. Mon if it's not better, but do I do for now? PLEASE HELP!!! THis really hurts. it's my right big toe.
