General Health Care - February 2007

I suffer from migraines, neck pain, anxiety and IBS. I work full time and am often in pain. I do not like to take prescription pain medicine as I feel it is just a crutch for me. Any suggestions?

I used a very tight & heavy shoe for a wk 5 months back. from then onwards my toe nails are dis colour & now seems to be dieing. Oncomming (new) area looks like cracked & out of shape. Can somebody tell me what I should do. Or a doctor who can help me urgently. I am in Melbourne.

I have Parkinson's Disease but that seems to be pretty much under control. Last summer I started having edema in my legs and feet and I lost control of my arms and legs. I was diagnosed with injection refraction of the heart, and myclonus due to taking Wellbutrin, and I was hallucinating but I knew that I what I was seeing was not real. I was fine for about 3 weeks after they stopped the Wellbutri and then I started ago but o much as the first time so they stopped the Amantadine - to make a longer story shorter, I now have pain constantly in my hands and fingers, feet and toes. Sometimes it's a burning type pain but sometimes it's shooting pains especially in my fingers. I have back pain which I know I have a degenerative disc sitting on top of my tail bone and that also causes alot of pain. I have days that my speech sounds like Forrest Gump, I've had a hemoglobin of 9 and took two erythropoietin shots so that's up to almost 13. Any input anyone ? The Docs. can't figure it out

Some nights I will be right on the thresh hold of falling asleep, then my body will jerk and I will wake up. I feel really really light tingling in my limbs, I'm breathing harder than usual, feel dizzy, and am scared. I have no memorization of dreams or anything of that nature. I went to to a doctor and he said it was anxiety. Has anyone else felt this before and know what it could be? I think I'm going to see a doctor again on Monday. Thanks..

We went skiing 4 weeks ago, and my fiancé had a bad fall. He hurt his arm/shoulder, and couldn't lift his arm at all. He can now lift his arm almost level with his shoulder, but it is still very painful, and he can't lift it higher. We are in Switzerland, and he is reluctant to go to the hospital because the excess on our health insurance is so high!

He thinks that his arm will heal on its own. Any advice?

i've got this realy big problem of smelling petroleum fuels. i strted smelling whitner which contained tolune ,later petrol,diesel,n now m stuck up with kerosene & shoepolish. i know inhaling dese things isnt healthy i'ev quit on tolune petrol n stuff but i cant stop myself to smell kerose n shoe polish(i know u think m a totaly of my rocker person). whts the most tht can by inhaling these fuels? n how can i stop myself?

my husband and i both have herniated discs. i am going through physical therapy but it isnt helping. i am waking up hurting now and i have five children to take care of so i cant be debilitated by pain to where it is preventing me doing my job as a wife and mother and my husband has already had surgery and has another herniated disc to deal with as well as doin lawn care(self employed) so he s the bread winner so to speak and i know hes in more pain than i am. i only have medipass and none of the docs want to give us pain meds. i know y they dont like to but in both of our cases they are needed. me and my husband would not take them if we didnt feel the need to so i was wondering what can i do about it? they just think that we are pill poppers wantin quick fixes. its insulting. meanwhile both of us are suffering. im not gettin any housework done because of the need to lie down where im most comfortable and its unacceptable to myself and my husband. can anyone help?

I have this odd headache on the right side and my teeth are very sensitive on the right side. My teeth usually only ache at night and I only get these odd heachaches at night or I awake with it. The sensitive teeth makes me think this is a dental problem, but the odd headaches are worrying me.
