Some nights I will be right on the thresh hold of falling asleep, then my body will jerk and I will wake up. I feel really really light tingling in my limbs, I'm breathing harder than usual, feel dizzy, and am scared. I have no memorization of dreams or anything of that nature. I went to to a doctor and he said it was anxiety. Has anyone else felt this before and know what it could be? I think I'm going to see a doctor again on Monday. Thanks..

I think many people have similar experiences - I know I do. Sometimes it's a feeling of falling, then landing with a bump as you wake up. Sometimes it's just waking up with that cold clammy feeling of fear, as you describe. That's when it's nice to have someone there to cuddle up to! It is a horrible feeling, though - I hope you soon start sleeping soundly again.

i have had this a feww time too, it is scary but not sure what you can do about this. See what your doctor says on monday and go from there. it might be that your body is falling asleep before you are and get this jerking happening.
Good luck

You are suffering from sleep paralysis. Your mind is waking up before your body does. It is no big deal. I happens to a lot of people otherwise they would not have came up with a name for it. Don't worry about it. Go back to sleep.

I think your doctor is right. Getting drunk might help. But then again, maybe not.
