Depends on your level of hearing loss. While everyone else has mentioned ITE (In The Ear) and ITC (In The Canal) types of hearing aids, these types of aids are better suited for lower levels of hearing loss. If you have a severe loss, you are much more likely to get feedback (squealing or whistling) with these types of aids, because they are so small, the microphone is much closer to the sound source (by definition) which is what causes feedback with the higher power levels required to treat more significant losses. You need a diagnostic audiogram and a good audiologist or HA dispenser who can tell you which types of HAs are best suited for your type of loss.
